Yep. Don’t get me wrong I think Nico has been solid for us this season but he’s not that great on the ball in that position. His passing bag isn’t deep enough and he takes far too long on the ball.

I get steady Eddie vibes personally and there’s nothing from with because you need guys like that in a squad, Rodri successor talk too premature.

He is still very young and its his first real season.

Idk what you expect, he is ambitious and has potential, I cant see us signing another „Rodri replacement“ for the Future. No one will ever be, Rodri is unique. Nico G. does us a job there and he will improve more i‘m sure. Let him gain experience.
 
I like how Nico has improved and how much potential he has. If he tailors in forward passes more then we'll be laughing. Fantastic performances so far this season. Put Nico and Rodri together and we have a solid central mid. He'll be missed when he's out.

We are going to need to play someone else at DM. Rodri cant play more than 2 games in 13 days. 3 games tops if he is coming on as a sub.

I'd strongly consider Ruben Dias for that position. Best simple passwr on defense. And has the most experience defensively. Wont be anything close to Rodri or even Nico on the ball but could keep us solid defensively.

Alternatively, there is Nunes and Rico.

I wasn't putting him down
 
He has been great, but it was obvious he is not on the same level as Rodders when it comes to vision and passing range. Him and Rodders together could be a very solid base to have a fluid 3 and Erl in front of them
 
Nico G. is a wonderful 6 for us, although this is not his natural position. He's been excellent at 6.

That said, Rodri is a class above, and is far better than Nico. Still, I rate Nico highly - at least as backup to Rodri - and perhaps playing alongside him in games where we need a more defensive setup.
