16 Points - Sense of Perspective

for them it's just another 3 points. Their job is to win trophies. It's right that it should be that way. Our relationship is a little different to MCFC because we are surrounded by Man Utd. If you can look at it unemotionally then Pep did what he had to do

ANyway, the team out there was eminently capable of winning that game. Combination of Sterling and the ref. having a mare did for us.

i get that and understand it. but i think with a first team out yesterday it could have made the difference especially at 2-0 up. its all what ifs really and hindsight , but i would have played the strongest team. either way we are going into the liverpool game with two big losses and what looks like a fragile team at the minute.

As I've said before, there's no way Pep would have fielded a weakened Barca team for a title winning match against Madrid.

My worry is that we've had two collapses in a matter of days. Feels like our players lose their cool sometimes when one goals in and we seem all over the place

Your viewing it emotionally rather than rationally.

Our mentality has been strong all season of which there are numerous examples.

Your sample size of two doesn’t mean there is a mentality issue. You’re choosing to ignore all the contrary evidence.

Yet, if Sterling bags his two and Gundogan scores his free header we are 4-0 up at half time and Pep is heralded a genius for being able to rest players and still take the piss in the league.
Pep's barca was a machine of which we are unlikely to see again. They trounced Real over and over under Pep.

We played KDB, Walker and others against Liverpool and got turned over. Can hardly say they were flying in form and it was such a shock that Pep dropped them.

Considering you clearly know Pep’s love of the CL and the immense importance of a club of Barcelona’s standing winning it, you are now just being obstinate for the sake of it.

No, I genuinely don't think Pep would have dropped some of his best players against Madrid, especially if he could have won the La Liga title against them.

Yesterday reminded me of the game when Guardiola’s Bayern Munich destroyed us for 75 minutes at the ETIHAD, only for two moments of late Aguero genius to clinch the points for City.

Our football has been breathtaking, but occasionally we cruise into a comfort zone, that generally goes unpunished, but always creates uncertainty, both on the pitch, and in the stands. Burnley certainly benefited, but it could easily have been Newcastle at Christmas, or Chelsea the other week.

Last season, we scapegoated Bravo, when the major issues were further upfield. This season we’ve scored more goals, but we still lack the clinical edge, that distinguishes the great teams of yesteryear.

However, despite the pain of yesterday’s defeat, we should still be proud of the wider picture. We could still beat the points and goals record so it's hardly a Jamie Pollock moment.
