He was great again. I have the feeling being able to go under the radar while he played himself into some great form has worked out well for him this season. He's played a lot of football and he's part of why we've been in such good form.

I suppose the days where other teams wont notice how important players are long gone with all the analysis that goes on. I just hope he can keep up the rate of improvement he's been showing so whatever is working for him lets keep doing it.

Getting closer with those thunderbastards, ones going to fly into the top corner one week.

Played well last night.

I think it suits him having Cancelo come into midfield from right back n’all.

Said this before amidst a lot of criticism his way, when the backline is fixed, he'll be fine. And so is the case right now. Not perfect, but he's started to understand our demands and do a lot more than he did initially. Recent performances have been really good

I really thought the one the other day was gonna be it. He has a knack for twatting it really well but not scoring. I reckon he’s waiting for fans to be back before netting one

The game isn’t as urgent or panicked when we’re winning games and in control. Look at the Southampton and Chelsea away games: early doors both of the opposing teams were up for it, the game was fast, they were pressing in midfield and Rodri looked all over the shop; but Southampton tired and at Chelsea we got a few goals up and their heads dropped, and both teams stopped pressing, the games slowed down, and Rodri could do what he does well.

At West Ham, Gundogan had a moan at him for standing still when he needed an option for a pass. And that was a big criticism of mine about Rodri. But when the game’s a bit slower, especially when we’re playing well and winning therefore playing with a bit more confidence and swagger, you get the best out of Rodri.

Cancelo moving into midfield areas from right back has helped in recent weeks, almost makes him have to move but hopefully it’s also made him aware that moving more offers more options for a pass as well as opening up passing lanes in gaps where he’s just been too.

I’ll be interested to see how he fairs in the big games approaching. I think I’d still play Fernandinho in the biggest games if he’s had a good rest because even at 35, in a one-off game, I still think he’s the best defensive mid in the world. But there are a few big games in a row coming up so Fernandinho won’t be able to play more than a few so Rodri is going to play a number of them and let’s see if his recent upturn in performance levels can be maintained against the best sides when he’s pressed and the games are fast.

Rodri is a hell of a player and he is VERY YOUNG.

He's like Busquets with the physics. He is not as technical as Busquets but his level is high. He can shoot very good and he is also very good with his head compare to Busquets. For me, he loose the ball less than Fernandinho, he is more powerful than Fernandinho, shoot better and head better. On the other side he has less experience, leadership and is less agile than Fernandinho. We'll see in the future but i'm pretty sure in 10 years we will remember him as one of the best DM the club never had.

Once again sorry for my poor english, as a little french fan of ebglish football i try my best.

I'd say we're adapting to fit Plodri after giving up on trying to get Plodri to fit in the Fernandinho role. Cancelo basically comes into midfield and gives Plodri the cover and provides Gundogan with the movement to his right that we lack with just Plodri/Gundogan in a 2, we create a 3 and it means Rodri has less ground to cover and can focus on recycling the play and getting us move whilst drawing the press to him which is his strength. With Dias behind marshalling we narrow the pitch and it means Rodri has to play in a small area which is his strength and hides his weaknesses a lot better.
