Strangely thought he was quiet today but not in a bad way. Did his usual cleaning up and brilliant under pressure but the fact we looked for vertical passing between the lines meant he didn’t see as much of it.

Which I’m fine with as long as he’s there to mop up.

He absolutely dominated midfield they couldn't take ball of him, watching it looked couple of time he will lose ball but he retain it.Amazing performance.

I thought he was particularly good yesterday as particularly in the first half he was having to help our back 4 move the ball forward. Newcastle were marking him and blocking passing lanes and he was still immense.

This fella is the epitome of professionalism. There are few left in the image/money driven modern game. No bells or whistles, just complete composure and focus, in every game he plays. Ake, with perhaps Diaz and Bernardo are of similar mindset, but nobody even comes close to this chap.

He’s really been great for us especially as he had so many people in his back the first season and a half. Good job we sold Plodri. Anyone know who bought him?
But, with a glass half empty just like Kev he will end up being overplayed and worn out. Looks like he will have to play 3 intense games next week as not sure Prp will trust Phillips even against Burnley but hope he does.
