We are really flogging the lad. Glad he's been able to get some rest in over the last 2 weeks but at times today late in the 1st half and early in the 2nd, he was on a hiding to nothing.

Shame we didn't go out and get someone like that Kovacic fella who was at Chelsea, has a particular skillset which could have worked really well with Rodders for games like this.

Can’t do it all on his own. Needs legs in and around him, looked laboured at times which is to be expected. Far better when kova helped out.

He did well to stay in the game without giving them a chance to con the ref with their cheating dives and girlie screaming.

120 touches yesterday, the other City players between 20 and 80. For comparison, Stones had around 60. Basically, it's Rodri and the rest.

I hope he can avoid injuries and a dip in form after so many games since the start of last season. Those suspensions might have been a blessing in disguise. His minutes should be carefully managed during the international break.

Needs a partner. Playing alone in midfield is just too much work for one player in this league as it’s too intense & full throttle. Arsenal tried playing Rice as a single pivot with attacking players around him but they’ve started using Jorginho alongside him now. Needs to be same for Rodri. Get Kovacic alongside him.

Spain are playing Colombia and Brazil, i wouldn't be surprised if he played 90 in both games.
