Easier said than done when if you buy another holding midfielder he will literally sit on the bench until those rare occasions when Rodri is unavailable. There will be no challenge for his place because he is peerless in that position in world football. The ideal scenario is to have someone who generally plays elsewhere but can rotate in and out of that position when needed a la Gundoghan. Kovacic could be the answer or John Stones when he is fit again, potentially Lewis in the future but not just yet. One things for certain it doesn’t look like it’s going to ever be Kalvin Phillips.
Yep. 1 man team. We can play without KDB, we can play without Haaland, we also have enough depth to play without a key centre back. Playing without Ederson for a prolonged period wouldn’t be good but I think we’d just about get by. But playing without Rodri is impossible for us.Lost all 3 in which he didn’t play, 1 man team?
