He has let us down big time in getting himself sent off needlessly

Easier said than done when if you buy another holding midfielder he will literally sit on the bench until those rare occasions when Rodri is unavailable. There will be no challenge for his place because he is peerless in that position in world football. The ideal scenario is to have someone who generally plays elsewhere but can rotate in and out of that position when needed a la Gundoghan. Kovacic could be the answer or John Stones when he is fit again, potentially Lewis in the future but not just yet. One things for certain it doesn’t look like it’s going to ever be Kalvin Phillips.

Agree, no DM in the world in the right mind will ever agree to be just bench player for most of time while Rodri is going to be guarantee starter and he will not let go his starting position easily.

Rodri may have let us down but he's the only man who's gonna raise us back up. Too many of the other midfielders can't step up in his absence.

I understand the frustration (and he made a stupid mistake), but this just proves that he is our best and most important player by a mile. And if you are blaming the 3 defeats on Rodri, I hope every win we get people come here and say it's thanks to Rodri.

Best player at the club. Can everything: defend, pass and score.

Let's hope he doesn't suffer a serious injury. We are very lucky to have him.

Instead of blaming him for the three losses because of one moment of stupidity maybe we should look at the club for not buying an able back-up and putting too much responsibility on one man to never miss a game.

The fact that we are nowhere near as good without Rodri should make us feel grateful to have him.

Yep. 1 man team. We can play without KDB, we can play without Haaland, we also have enough depth to play without a key centre back. Playing without Ederson for a prolonged period wouldn’t be good but I think we’d just about get by. But playing without Rodri is impossible for us.

If we are blaming him for the 3 losses without him we seriously have a bigger problem on our hands tactically and from a squad perspective.

No team should ever be that reliant on one player.
