If someone isn’t scoring 35+ goals and getting 20+ assists, they usually don’t get nominated for things because that’s all many people think football is about.

He want even nominated for the PFA Players’ Player award in England. Never saw him mentioned for the PL or Sports Writers ones either.
It’s an absolute disgrace in footballing terms, but I think that’s why most players don’t give a damn about most personal awards.

Not to pick on him, but all I ever hear is raves about Saka at Arsenal as the next greatest thing that has already arrived, but on the basis of pure football, he wouldn’t get in this City team. In fact, I think Ødegaard is the ONLY Arsenal player that has a chance!

Truth be told, as good as LDB was at putting the ball on a plate for Haaland last season, and Haaland was at putting a metric shitton if them in the net, Rodri played better than EITHER of them over the course of the season.

Rodri is the Energizer Bunny and metronome of the team. He dictates both the pace and the attacking intent of the team, and has the engine to change games late on.

Wouldn’t swap him for ANY PLAYER in the League. NONE! And, maybe even any player in ANY League.

Yes. THAT good!

Pep constantly evolves this team every year.

Over the last year his biggest innovation on the team has made the opposition think: "Wait, wheres Rodri?" ... but a fraction of a second too late.

He would be a huge miss if he were to get injured, arguably the most important player we have, can't remember him ever picking up an injury but surely we should have been in for someone to rotate him with every now and again, our defense seems to get rotated every game but our main man in midfield who covers more ground and sees the ball a lot more than the defence never gets rested. Is he actually a cyborg? Has anyone actually checked he's not?

Actually he was injured last season..

We played against United at Etihad..

Bernardo played as DM with KDB and Gundo upfront..

Still great game, final score 6:3...

Now we have more options in midfield: Matheus Kovacic + Bernie and KDB

-------John------Kovacic------
Bernie----Matheus-----Grealish
--------KDB/Foden--------------
-----------------Haaland---------

Strong team anyway..

Such a crucial player for this City team. His important can’t be undermined. Controls the pace of the game at times and is so secure with his passing and positioning. Didn’t think he would turn out to be this good when he arrived but he has gotten better year after year.

He was due a bad game today was the day and luckily it was only Fulham . Nice rest for the lad now hopefully via international duty .

Not at his best......but Oliver was determined to destroy his game and caution him from kickoff.

Hopefully Nunes will soon be up to speed, and Philips can start repaying his wages as the encouraging cameo indicated.

100%, Phillips showed more in his minutes yesterday than he did for the whole of last season

IF he can show anything and help Rodri have much needed rest it will be a huge boost to all.

I noticed before kick off yesterday that Rodri ran across to the bench just as the team went into a huddle. He was pointing to his stomach then he took some sort of tablet washed down with water. Huddle went without him. I wonder if he wasn’t 100% yesterday hence his sluggish (for him) performance.

Sometimes I wonder if this guy is human. He's clearly the player on the team who's had the most minutes in two years, and not only is he never injured, but his performances are always world-class.

How long will this miracle last? I'm afraid that at some point, physical or mental wear and tear (or both) will have negative consequences for him. Nevertheless, I'm sure the staff are aware of this and will do what's necessary to give him a break.
