16 | Rodri 2024/25

I know there's more going on but my god I didn't think we'd turn completely to shit without him.

By the end of the season if possible his stock is going to even bigger than it is now.

Rodri has been the metronome and glue of the team, he made us tick and stick. Without him we've collapsed like a deck of cheap cards too often.

We should be watching Phillips guarding our defence in Rodri's absence but the less said about that useless Yorkshire pudding the better.

I just hope that when he comes back he can get back to the kind of form he had before injury. Any player recovering from a serious injury is always worrying whether they can come back as good as they were. Hopefully he will.

It's not just him that we're missing, though, is it. It's almost everyone.

Last season you'd say our strongest line-up was Ederson, Walker Dias Ake Gvardiol, Rodri De Bruyne Foden, Bernardo Haaland Grealish.

Walker, Dias, Ake, Rodri, De Bruyne, Foden, and Grealish have all been injured/unfit. Gvardiol and Bernardo are knackered after being overplayed. That leaves Ederson and Haaland.

This isn't just down to Rodri.

I get that but I still maintain if Rodri was playing we win at least 3/4 of the past 6 games. We definitely don't lose 5 in a row.

TBF the big drop off was expected last season with the amount of football played in 22/23 got through that but going deep into all competitions and internationals they are fucked and need a rest.

He shouldn`t come back to soon. After that horror injury we will be lucky to even see prime Rodri again. It`s likely that other (smaller) injuries will follow. Perhaps next Christmas he could be perhaps at 80/90%.
