Could barely move faster than a steady jog but still looked to be the best player on the pitch.

When we have possession he instinctively knows where the ball should go and how to get it there, when they have the ball he instinctively knows where it’s gonna break and gets himself there.

If he plays every league game we have left we win the title.

The saddest thing about that 45 minutes is we are so much better with him, it’s painful when he isn’t on the park :(

We look so much more confident with him on the pitch, it just oozes through the team. The new players just need to find the space and Rodri will find them. His ability to drop back for a short pass from the keeper, turn and move the ball quickly, has been lacking since him and Gundogan have been absent/moved on. Bernardo does it effectively sometimes but that leaves a hole where he should be.

Think of it as nearly two years off for Rodri, half a dozen more games, stay injury free especially post-match, and we'll be well on the way in the crucial phase of the season.

Sincerely hope we see much, much more of him from now on, hope his body is up to it. With him back and close to his best that's a huge advantage for us.

Gonzales done great for us but that second half by Rodri shows the actual difference in quality with the two as a number six! Would an Anderson be a level up to Gonzales? Not sure Rodri is levels above all midfielders!
