We’d have no one left if we sold our best players whenever they went through a bad spell. Bernardo underperformed for a year before his recent recovery.

For every miserable git who misses when we were shite, there's a giddy kid wanting us to throw away our best shiny toys for new shiny toys.

Soriano said once in his presentation in Dubai I think it was that you have to know when the right time is to let player go.

He went on to say that they should have let Ronaldinho go year eariler than than they did. Barca would have got double the money too.

Ferguson was master at this. He sold at times key players whilst their value was still high, he also knew that player in question had peaked.

What we cannot do is give KDB astronomical contract until he is 34-35. He is not natural athlete either which means he is likely to decline faster.

I don't think putting Kev up for sale in a post-covid economy is going to give us any favourable financial or footballing results.

Not just based on yesterday but I don't think it's a crazy idea to move him on. De Bruyne reminds me of Rooney in his physique and hard running, all action style; not to mention playing relentlessly from a young age. Rooney never had the injuries De Bruyne's had but was on the decline by 30 and United kept him too long.

Our style is drastically different now to 100 point season which was De Bruyne at his best. His laser guided missiles to Sane/Aguero/Sterling were a thing of beauty but now we play lower tempo with a lot less pace up front. Pep had him covering the ground like Kante that season then but it's closer to the Ozil end of the scale now, don't know if that's just down to injuries or not.

Don't know how feasible it is but I'd look to sell him and Gundogan while we can still get good money for them, bring in Aouar and Grealish. Go all-in on the methodical possession style with players exceptional in tight spaces and with the engines to both press and get back to support the DM.
