This is a strange one, but despite de Bruyne being by far the best player we have; Jesus Gundogan Bernardo Cancelo and Rodri all played their best football this season in that run of games in January and February when de Bruyne didn’t play.

I think we had better team performances with de Bruyne out of the team. That 0-5 at West Brom where everyone clicked, 1-4 at Liverpool, 3-0 against Spurs... all without de Bruyne.

100%

I have stated this on several occasions,he is an amazing player but our dynamic and cohesion is seemingly better without him.And Bernardo doesnt get fucked over.

Bernardo turns into one of the best midfielders in Europe when Kev doesn’t play (2018-19 season, Jan+Feb this year).

Spot on,and we will lose him if continues to be flitted in and out of the team or used in a lesser way,as he was when Pep favoured the inclusion of Kev and Gundogan as a two.

Yep, I’m fairly confident it won’t make any difference in the League and the Cup final, whether we miss his genius for the CL I’m not sure though.

Gundogan & Bernardo were outstanding in that period so hopefully they’ll step up again.

I dislike attaching too much importance to one player, however good he may be — we’re not the Harry Kane team! (And by the way if he’s out for the League Cup final then they’ve got far bigger problems than any injury we could have). But I do suspect that having Kev out will be the difference against P.S.G. You’ve only got to look at that manic performance he put in against Dortmund. He just gives us that x factor that other players — good as they are — don’t bring to the table. By the way, despite yesterday, I still have firm faith that we’ll lift the other two trophies. But the CL... Well, we need KDB. Let’s hope I’m wrong.

If we revert to our tactics like Jan Feb period when Rodri Gundo and Bernardo where playing, we will be fine in league provided same Gundogan turns up and also Bernardo comes back to form. Its not a coincidence that Gundos goals dried up once Kev returned and Bernardo became useless and Cancelo became shite. But he has that fear factor that helps in CL. Opponents know if he gets the ball, he can change things on his own.

Rodri gundo Bernardo in MF Mahrez Foden Wide should see us through CL and if we have energy left than kn Carabao Cup final as well but in CL, without Elite finisher and Kev? I doubt
