Without a doubt,he struggles to get past players anymore and that was a big part of his effectiveness.Temporary issue hopefully.
Regrettably, I worry he’s becoming a latter day Sergio, where you can rely on him only for a portion of the season and the rest of the time he is either out or re-acclimatising. There’s a temptation to rush him IMO because we all know he can turn a game with one or two magic moments.

I didn’t expect him to play last night and didn’t see the need. How’s he going to be for the dippers game now?

Yikes, some of the takes. The geezer had 0 pre season and started his first game in the league on Saturday.

With the obvious care they took with him at the start of the season, there is no way he would be playing if his ankle couldn't handle it.

Let the guy get some minutes in his legs at least, Jheez.

Also to add, that pretty much all our best chances were created by him.

Exactly.

I think 90 minutes against Liverpool may be a step too far in his current rehabilitation process. Three big games in a row is a tough call.

I think my best hope as of now is he hits his top gear just in time for our usual middle of the season run of wins that normally puts us right on top.
No doubting his fitness issues have become more of a concern these days.
Still technically the best player in the squad capable of pure magic but there's not much else to his game at the moment when those moments don't materialise.

Eh, he had a bad night but still is capable of wining the game with one moment

Would have liked to see him up top for some time last night once it was clear he was having a mare in mid

Well, he was worse than Sterling last night, but it's just a matter of rhythm and match fitness. Sure he'll be fine, the run of games will help.
