He will always produce moments of brilliance because he is a special talent, but he is miles off his best and just doesn't look fit.

Gundogan can now take some of the heat off him.
Only you know that one.
If he isn’t fit the manager would know and won’t play him.

He has been sloppy on the ball this season that is all, some very poor touches and passes

Not a great first half, some uncharacteristic errors but much improved in the second half. He looks like he's not completely recovered from his injuries, can't wait for him to get back to his best.

He is absolutely know where near any sort of fitness level, that is clearly obvious and the pre match press conference from the player also confirmed it.

He had a serious ankle injury and bad facial injury in the last months, added on top of numerous knee, ankle and muscle problems in the last 3 seasons.

NO ONE IS WRITTING OFF KDB, but his injury and fitness are a serious concern and have been for a long time. It is preventing him becoming probably the best player on the planet in the peak years of his career. For both player, club and country it's a huge blow.

Looks a stone overweight and isn’t 100% fit yet. Just needs games and to stay injury-free.

I agree with everything you say, other than the above.

Even getting back to 100% fitness,he has peaked career wise IMO.

He's 31 next birthday,he is not a natural athlete, and the injuries will have had an impact. The season before last saw him as a genuine contender for that honour,i just dont foresee him achieving that incredible level again.

Its a big reason we have brought in Grealish.

Agreed but not sure Grealish is a KDB replacement, more Sterling for me.

IF Bernardo was to leave it may well be an area we have to look at.

I think KDB can both be our best player and a player that we don't miss that much when he doesn't play. Nobody can do what he does for me, but still he was out for like 2 months last season around January and we literally won every game. Bernardo and Gundogan work incredibly well together and neither works with Kev as well as David Silva did, so losing him doesn't really affect the team the way an injury to Rodri, Dias or Walker would.

I do agree he's not had the best start but he's done this before and then all of a sudden snapped into gear. I'm not worried unless the whole season sees Kev as he's been for the last few weeks.

I agree, although I think that about most of the best City players too. We have a really good manager and a really strong squad of players. In fact the only player that I think as of now we miss when he doesn't play is Walker.

Definitely not in the right shape at the moment. I said a week or so ago he looks like he needs a month off to just concentrate on his fitness and shape.

However, in his 13 minute cameo on Saturday he created more goal scoring opportunities than anyone else in the entire game.

You know my standpoint regarding Bernardo and the KDB conundrum, been spouting it for a few seasons, however, don’t be surprised if he knocks it out of the park this season in terms of stats, he invariably has a purple patch and I can see him maximising it this term, even beyond his precious high standards.... if it kicks into gear, make no mistake, Foden could hit 25+ this year and that’s being conservative!

This is an incredibly horrendous take. What is KDB's best ability? its his passing. His athletic ability might go away and he might not be the same KDB we know but he will still be world class. He will adapt his game to his body because he is a genius and any coach will love to have his ability on the team even when he is 35.
