Cant believe he's starting in a make shift team in a game that means nothing especially as he says he's still playing in pain. WTF?

When did he say he's still playing in pain?

A few days ago he said he started with serious pain but it was better now.

Most people on here think he needs more games to get in form and fitness, but then get angry when he plays more games.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought he was improving but still not pain free. I could be wrong. Still think its an unnecessary risk playing tonight.

He shouldn’t be playing in this, its nonsense and however it’s dressed up, he should be sensibly managed, regardless of feeling better!

Weren’t there reports that his ankle’s situation is sensible, it could demand surgery if not handled well?

Kdb
For mere longevity it has to be managed as such, otherwise the niggles will become more sustained (imo)

Great game. Great goal.

I am watching it worrying he will get a late challenge injury every time he gets the ball.

Thing is he wants to play, the manager will not say " no , don't play" Kev seems to love playing for Belgium, relishing the freedom of his role. I am sure he could say no if he wanted to.
The consequences are often detrimental for us that's the problem.

Good points both asahartford and bringbackswales make but I suppose when it comes down to it the buck stops with Kev. Surely he wouldn’t risk aggravating an injury just to play in a dead rubber without the prior approval of our physios ?

Maybe we’ve told him that his ankle’s fine he just needs game time to get up to speed ??

Why does de bryune look so ordinary for
Belgium.
At the risk of being hung, drawn and quartered on here...

Because he hasn't played consistently well for some time. He has bursts of brilliance but rarely dominates in games like he used to. He's managing his career and injuries with his age and the 2022 World Cup in mind

He has never looked half the player for belgium.

Ok? How u know that? Maybe he is just not playing well?

Because his perceived brilliance is dependent on a final ball; he’s always been very ‘ordinary’ outside of the decisive pass or shot, we’ve just had the quality and structure to accommodate his flaws and provide the platform for those eye catching moments.

You do know who the manager is right? It's criminal what Martinez has done with that Belgium squad, he's squandered their best, and given the size of their country, very likely their only chance of winning anything at international level with diabolically shit tactics.

Can you name a single player who has thrived at international level for them on anything even remotely approaching a consistent basis?
