If im correct the last two times we got knocked out of the ucl, last year against real madrid and against chelsea in the final, KDB didn't end the game on the pitch? I know he got injured by rudiger against chelsea but he was also taken off against real. In these type of matches we need him to play the whole 90 minutes.
Subbing him was the correct decision for two reasons. Firstly, it was correct to sub Kev to prevent him from potentially aggravating the injury he's sustained whilst catching his foot when did went down awkwardly and look to be struggling afterwards. Secondly, the introduction of Alvarez gave us more dynamism and industry in midfield, and shortly after him coming on at 69 minutes we scored two goals, second on 70 and third on 76. That substitution changed our fortune quickly and had it not been for their keeper we could scored a couple more.

To be honest Kev is an immense player but I would really like if he could grab these types of high pressure CL games especially quarters, semis etc by the scruff of the neck. A statement performance from him in a sense.

Any knock from last night? His knee bent a little the wrong way when he caught it on the astroturf. Alvarez can cover Leicester for him

What actually happened? We were other side of the pitch 3rd tier so couldn't really tell. But he tried a lung-bursting run about 2 minutes later and pulled up, straight away Pep told Alvarez to get ready.

Hopefully just a precaution, though, given how pissed off he seemed at being subbed.

Looked like his groin from the first incident when he stretched as his foot got caught, but he felt his ankle/shin after the run you referenced so not sure if the two were related or not

Think he definitely had a knock but wanted to try run it off.

Rodri bizarrely kicked the ball out of play for no reason at all and started waving at the bench, initially thought it was him who was injured. By this time Alvarez was ready to go and Kev was subbed at the next stoppage

I have a bad feeling he picked up a bigger injury than we're led to believe. His account's silent on social media (always posts after a win) and didn't see him on the cool-down pictures and video the official City account posted. I'd love to be wrong.
