So he’s been carrying a groin strain past couple of weeks maybe?. Undoubtedly would have been the reason he was slightly below par against Liverpool. Rest up and then get ready for the run in Kev, you can carry us to possibly the greatest glory ever.

Would certainly explain why he's looked knackered from the off last few games and appeared to be running in treacle. Shouldn't have played, have we learned nothing about taking risks with his fitness from his hamstring problems? He needs to be managed now, one bad injury and it could permanently ruin him at his age, he is loses that explosive power he has. He loses a lot of his game. Get him rested, hopefully he's fit for arsenal, it's a must win for our title challenge but even if hes not ready, we've still got other competitions to win that he'll be needed for.

Maybe Pep took him off in the last game (despite Kevin’s annoyance) & we asked Belgium not to pick him BECAUSE we HAVE learned about taking risks ???

Why play him at all? Let's just embalm him and file past him knowing he's all wrapped up cosy and warm.
Christ - it's football and he's one of the World's best assets. It's still not a definite science - things happen. Sometimes the more molly coddling, the more fragile they become. Plays regularly, gets fitter and into form - risks injury - was ever thus and a decision for those more informed to make.
Sick of these couch potato knows best fitness and injury, hindsight sessions.

I wonder if the latest injury together with reports that we are delaying contract extension talks and gossip about us looking at Wirtz and Guimaraes is an indication that we might be looking at the “offer” from the Saudis. £100m for a 32/33 year old would be hard to turn down, even if it is KDB.
