Why do we expect a footballplayer to justify his choices. IS there a boycot towards Saudi for our industry? What about the partnership in different ways among Europe and Saudi? And, the elephant in the room, where do City's funds in recent years originate from?

But just what are they realistically going to pay for a 32 year old, with a so so injury record in recent years (and that's not going to improve as he gets older)? Even for one of the world's best players, would they pay truly silly money? Silly, as in 100m?

I think after Mahrez left last July, with 2 years remaining on his contract, he'd have cleared the same amount in Saudi by the end of October last season.

And his family will probably be a lot safer in Saudi/Dubai than the USA.
