Completely agree, the problem is that some of the people who need to come to terms with it are the people who make the decisions. They have showed zero planning in regards to replacing him even though it’s been obvious since the CL final.Some people really can't see the wood for the trees.
He has been an outstanding footballer. Best midfielder the league has seen. But he is not a robot.
No footballer is immune from aging. He is another one like Gundogan who is truly showing his age. Injuries have also brought the axe down on his best days.
As soon as some people come to terms with reality the better.

Should have been eased out into a bit part role whilst we integrated new, younger players.
Instead we have flogged them to death. Players in the 30 plus bracket shouldn't be playing 50 games plus a season.
Only freaks like Salah and Ronaldo continue to perform like they are 5 years younger than their real age.
The big issue is we've got 3 or 4 players who have reached a similar point in their careers - for me you cannot keep them all but if you had to choose one player out of our elder/perhaps injury prone group it would be Kev - there is no other player in the squad that can single handedly win a game like Kev - so I would be shipping out a few others before him - get some younger players in this next 2 windows and allow Kev to play less.
