I got shot down last season for saying you're never seeing the old Kev again and people are deluding themselves if they think so.

You can't have the injury he had last season at his age and come back the same without losing something. Some on here wouldn't have it.

It's not his fault, he's just getting to his mid 30s and had some bad injuries that required him to almost a season. It is what it is.

He's been the best in the world at his role, now he's not. Everyone has to fade eventually, no matter how ridiculously good they were. That's sport.

Time for some to come to terms with.
Same goes for many others in the squad time for them to move on or be moved on.

Maybe Haaland and Foden aside the rest of the squad will not be part of our next title win so a major reset is required and Pep has to be honest with himself to decide if he is up for it , he is having a very bad season and all successful managers your time should come to an end when you know its time yourself.

Im pretty sure its because he "hopes" does something. He often describes Kev as having that magic.

He hasnt learned his biggest mistake this season.

Stop running the senior players into the ground.
That’s how you know we’re fucked when we send the washed in and pray for moments of brilliance

No point anymore for a player who is shattered after an hour, and that’s with his game time managed.
He is arguably our greatest player and needs to be released from this chaos at the end of the season

Sad to see it happening. There's not been a better, more influencial player in my life time.
That half a season out was most likely the beginning of the end.
Shame but it's the price you pay at our level.

he had so many injuries in last 2-3 seasons, some bad ones too alongside the usual muscle issues etc. it probably took good bit away from him in terms of strength, fitness, playing time, even skills in a way like he is more rusty, slower, same runs cannot be made, so cannot get away from opponent to make the right cross etc.

different players age differently, KDB sadly looks 35-36 despite he is 34 in few months.

As Chaucer said 'time and tide wait for no man'.

In fairness to Kev, he should have been subbed earlier, or maybe come on in the final 20.

No place for sentimentality -we don’t want to ruin his legacy. Time to let go.
If we’re going to be ruthless in the summer like plenty want here, he has to go. Probably should’ve sold him off this past summer to get something for him, but i doubt any of us could’ve anticipated this much of a drop off.

Only has an hour in him nowadays, we know it, he knows it and Pep knows it so why is Pep leaving him on for so long? Tonight played put exactly as I argued it might and why it would be better bringing him on rather than starting. If he's got an hour in him max, no point wasting most of that hour having him chasing the ball getting very little impact from him, bring him on after 60 minutes when hopefully the opposition are starting to tire, we might get more of the ball and he has more opportunities to make an impact.

Kdb has a role here still, A big one but it has to be correctly managed.

Sad to see. Reminding me of 15/16 Yaya.

Spends more time walking and watching players jog past him than he does running. I don’t think it’s laziness, it’s just incapability. Pep has used him wrong this seaso.

Pep’s fooling himself if he thinks Kev can play at this level any more. Not only incapable of running even his passing is now poor.

He did very well for 45 minutes. Nico Gonzalez should have played 30 minutes at least. If he's on the bench then he's fit.

A true City legend, but time to move on, blowing out of his arse after 20 minutes, spends more time chasing lost causes and burning up valuable energy.
