Don't want to argue the toss over the stats but to my eyes anyway he is no longer a game changer. Maybe 25 will see a bit of a resurgence if he builds up fitness but sadly I fear his glory days may be gone.

His best days are obviously behind him, yet he’s still miles better than everyone else we’ve got.

If he wants to bank coin overseas, 2025 is the year, unfortunately.

He’s no Ronaldo. He’s a player who is now physically limited by numerous serious injuries and next year might be his last year to sign that “once in a lifetime” subset deal, be it in America or Saudi.

Personally, I think he wants to come west. Better for his wife, better for his kids, less demanding on him, and he might get equity out of the deal.

But he will be 34 next year and has clearly been on a downhill trajectory on his fitness for a couple of years.
We are clearly going through a massive rebuild, and I wouldnt mind if we gave him a Modric style 1 year extension year on year.

But we can only do that for 1 player.

So if Gundogan, Bernie, Kovacic all go, then yeah I can see it.

But lets say Bernie stays, now I find it difficult to keep both in the new rebuild.

Much as I hate Real Mardarses Luka is one of my favouritest players ever.

Be good to do the same with King Kev and use as an impact sub like Luka does for that lot.

However I think his wife and the children spend a bit of time in Eastern Very Hot Climate countries so maybe the hesitation over a new contract? He will be missed. How fortunate we were to have Kev, Merlin, Kun, YaYa and Vinny in our team.

If he will sign for one year then great.
Kev has one more wind in him for us give the lad minutes he will do a job a job no one else currently can do.

Has completed his first 90 minutes and still got the rest of the season to really have an affect on the season. It is still manageble Beyond that it has hard to predict if he is going to be in the first wave of departures in the summer.
