Kev, looked trim & not just his haircut, also looked quick and strong.
Hopefully his down time with family has given him the rest he required.

If he starts the season like this and maintains it, it’ll be like having a 28 year old Kev back.

Ooooooh Kevin Deeee Bruuuyyynneee

He looked like he had got that initial burst back in the Euros. The short break before it maybe helped recover and strengthen his hamstring further. He looked rapid yesterday when pressing. If he has got it back, then our rivals are in big big trouble. His stats were superb last season even without the pace and looking a bit off it in general. If he's got his fitness back then he could break records this year.

The captain's armband looks so much better on him than it ever did on Kyle. Make it permanent.

Looked off the pace, which is understandable, but still put in a great shift.

Fully fit Kev would have had two or three goals tonight.

Looking forward to Red-faced Kev against Ipswich.

Just a weird choice from Pep to give him 2 minutes in the shield and then make him play the 90 today. This isn't specific to today, obviously players are gaining their fitness but do feel like Pep has to manage his minutes better this season if we are to prolong his brilliance. He needed to come off today for the last 15, at the very least once we got the second goal.

I thought he was well on the whole. I was surprised Pep played him the entire 95 minutes, though.

Same. But then it’s probably to get him up to speed. Kev is the type of player that needs to play minutes to be consistent then when he’s at his peak level, then he can dominate games and get a rest when they’re won.

Foden and Kev will both sit out plenty of matches this season, it’s a longer season than normal.

It is Chelsea. Kev old team. It is likely the last time he visits this ground.

I’m pretty sure I remember Lorenzo Bonaventura (our fitness coach) did a speech at a conference for coaches and he said that during the Covid season they decided that bringing players back as subs doesn’t actually help, and they’re more likely to get injured because no one ever warms up right and the game is at full pace when they go in. Instead they started bringing people back from injury as starters and because they can live monitor all the players’ HR and GPS data they know at all times which players are tired and who can last 90 by how fast they’re running, how high their HR is and how much they recover during breaks in play.

So that’ll be why Kev played 90, it’s their preferred method of bringing people back and they could see he wasn’t tiring badly.

I’ll try to dig out the video, IIRC it was in Spanish with subtitles.

Would like to see this video if you can find it

Y2k slim shady / nsync era?
It was about 2002/2003 so round about Eminem time. Though he's the only rapper I ever liked really. I was never really into him much but he has some excellent songs.

I watched a Brad Pitt film and decided I liked his blond hair, then gave it a hairband and slicked back twist, that was pretty much why.

I was blond as a kid anyway but never bleached blond.
