17 | Kevin De Bruyne - 2024/25

Not sure he can offer more than cameos in his current condition, and, given that he’s coming on when the opponent is comfortably ahead, it’s hard to read anything meaningful into his performances. Even though it’s only November, rather like Grealish, it’s also hard to see him playing himself into form this season.

The simplicity of passing and moving but makes such a difference. Everything he does has a purpose rather than the monotonous dribbled sideways passing and standing still.

This and only this - Bernie and Gundo seem to have been programmed to play keep ball without risk.

This seems to be the pattern across every level at the club. We will pass the casing off the ball until there's a clear and definite shot at goal. Nothing easier to defend against. When we are playing this kind of game week in week out against teams who don't want their GD to sink into oblivion I'm screaming for some one to hoist one into the area and see just how good the defence is. They have to get it right every time. But then I saw, was it Kyle, who hoisted the most monstrous cross fifty yards over the attack and out!

Yes, across the club at every level. You and I have shared similar comments regarding this about the women's team!

Yeah, if yer never saw a game but looked at the stats yer'd wonder how the fuck does Akanji, Stones, Greenwood, 'n Kennedy get most passes in a game? Three passes between the two CB's before a third player is brought in, and then they invariably pass back to one of the CB's. I bet Keating in the last game had more passes in one half last week in Stockholm than Haaland received yesterday!
