The question is who we are going to replace him with if he does move on in January?
Wirtz, go and make an offer that can't be rejected and blow the opposition suitors out of the water.

This guy could be our heartbeat for the next decade.

Now that our director has gone we maybe get this guy because all this bollox of not wanting to get into bidding wars is a fucking embarrassment for a club that can blow anyone out of the park . Trouble with city is that we are bothered about what we are perceived look like that we end up bottling out of big decisions . Bring back the days of tevez coming from Utd and us blitzing everyone . Name the last great window we had when brought in a few class players apart from Haaland and maybe gvadiol.? Also this not wanting to keep players who might want to go sinwgere ekse doesn’t sit right me either as alveraz shouldn’t have been allowed to go that late in the window without a replacement coming in . We are not ruthless enough .

100% agree.

Same about been soft also goes to the fans, nothing to do with being needy or entitled but we are now an elite club, that means utter ruthlessness when required.

Players who come to us are paid handsomely and they and their families want for nothing but they are hired hands, nothing more, nothing less.

Believe me if we continue to struggle they are the first who will want out.

All that matters in Manchester City football club, end of story!

Fans are the most important thing for me, even though they're not treated that way. No demand from us and the game's nothing.

Covid showed what fans are to the game.

Games played in empty stadiums were utter crap, football is about banter, anger and passion, without it the game and club is nothing.

Our fans complaining about some of us moaning about recent events is incredible to me, if your not worried or concerned about the last month your weird.

Then some fans upset the dippers are taking the piss out of Pep, jesus wept, really? some need to grow a pair.

One positive in this shocking run is it will make the real fans stand up, the club lose any complacency it had and sort out the weak from the chaff.

Too true mate.

If he is worried about his hamstring going again maybe he is thinking of his next move(can't blame him)? Think he fancies MLS next year

Clearly something is "up" because there's no logical reason as to why he is only getting 20 minutes at a time, never seen a "recovery schedule" like it

Think you will be sorely disappointed. Khaldoon and Soriano have final say.

We don't get into bidding wars for players who don't want to come here. Worked out well so far.

Bringing him on at 1-0 made sense, but we waited until we were 2-0 down, just seemed odd.

Pep has brought him on in games recently where we've been 4-1 down, 4-0 down and now 2-0 down.

I presumed it was to get him minutes but if he can only manage 10/15 minutes a game after 2 months of training then we're in trouble. Or he's in trouble.

I’m not doubting the greatest player to put a City shirt on in my eyes. In confused as to why we are in this position, he has been training for 2 months but still isn’t fit enough to play more than 15 minutes..

Going off the limited available information, I'm not sure two months is correct. I was led to believe he began training properly just before the last International break. I could be wrong.

At the start of the season he looked refreshed and rejuvenated but when he came back after that first early international break he looked fucked and he has never recovered. His race is run I'm afraid and I can't see him accepting a one year deal on less money even if the club offer him that. One of the all time greats for us but time waits for no man.

2017 was the last decent window... after peps first season. With Dias, Rodri and haaland all signing at different points.

It's not just signings either, look at the number of academy products and players who were on our books we've let go who are now performing at a high level in the prem and for other clubs around Europe:

Palmer, delap, rogers, hardwood bellis, bynoe-gittens, frimpong, lavia, porro, nmecha, douglas luiz... the list goes on.

He is not going to be offered any deal and for me that's the issue.

Those players left at a level way off their present levels, Luiz had to leave because of a work permit issue.

Lavia has taken 3 seasons to get up to a PL level, Frimpong still not sure, Palmer was a freak situation that nobody could have predicted, he he must be surprised how well his move has gone.

Delap was struggling for goals and games at Stoke and Hull.
