would keep him on another season as a bit part player, reduced terms like a pay as you play deal. Around the squad he will be a great help
Would be very surprised if he’d be willing to do that. He can go elsewhere and earn a fortune for his last couple of years of playing

Agree with others. The core of our current implosion as trying to squeeze every last bit of football out of every last player of our 4 peat team. De Bruyne is not going to get better from here or less injury prone or more impactful, we need to learn the lesson of this season make the tough decision and not renew and buy a top level replacement.

One of the reasons that we are playing tired older players is because Pep doesn't trust the youth, hell we even bought some more young players registered them for the champions league and then didn't play them, instead he played the old tired players again.

If he continues to do this we'll have to start calling him "Agent Pep" :)

KDB can still do a job, but not at elite level,.and that includes the fixtures against the top PL opponents where his influence has rapidly diminshed

He's been a great servant and possibly our greatest (although I would argue for Aguero)

However this isn't the time for sentimentality and we've allowed the situation to drift in the vain hope that he'll suddenly regain his pace and fitness, despite his birth certificate proving that he's actually older than Casemiro.

As other have said he sadly looks done to me too. Wages are a huge factor and if we’re going to sign a big name or a couple of lesser names we’ll need to save some money. Thanks for the brilliant memories Kev.

The youth players you refer to aren’t even close to the level of an old De Bruyne.

You’re just building up a fantasy in your mind of how good they can be. They’d literally be annihilated by a team like Madrid.

It’s the old ‘play the kids’ boomer routine.

Don't be fucking stupid, I meant the ones we bought you fucking muffin.

I hope Kev can just take it out of Peps hands and finish up at the end of the season.
100%. One of my favourite city players of all time but I can’t entertain the idea of the club extending his contract. He is no different to David Silva, Aguero, Yaya etc. His time at this level has come to an end simple as that

Unfortunately this but he still has his moments like on Saturday and in some prem games. His assist number of 6 is joint highest this season believe it or not with Savinho. Foden has 2 by comparison despite many more minutes.

The problem will be replacing him.

We didn’t buy a single player that plays De Bruyne’s position.

You change the system, you do understand that KDB isn't immortal don't you? Complaining that our midfield has no legs because it's too old whilst having a benchful of younger players is stupid.

It's not boomer logic it's common sense, you're going to need counseling when the object of your affection gives up the ghost and retires.

Some would play all of the older players until they drop, or they are just saying that because they have their lips firmly implanted on Peps arse ;-)

You’re just throwing around generalisations without any real substance. You can’t say who should play or what the set up would be. It’s just ‘play younger players’ with zero acknowledge of how that would work or be possible.

Who are these younger players who can play a CL game vs Real Madrid you’re speaking of? You’re going to have to say what the midfield would be because I’m not quite seeing it. With the players we have available it’s inevitable that we’re going to be playing at least 1 player who is passed his best.

Unfortunately with the options we have now I don’t believe there’s anyone better than De Bruyne right now barring the potential of an in-form Foden. The real solution is that we buy a top quality elite player in the summer so that De Bruyne can move on or plays a smaller bit part role from the bench next season on a smaller wage.

I don't have to state what midfield it should be all I had to do was counter the claim that the midfield was tired and old, putting younger players on solves that problem straight away.

A manager that inverts his full backs switches wingers from one side to another and sticks a lightweight non defender against one of the worlds best wingers should know that shouldn't he?

Managers earn their money by using different systems and not slavishly following a system that doesn't work because he hasn't got the players.

No it doesn’t. Football isn’t that simple.

Rico Lewis is younger than Walker. Does that mean Lewis instantly solved the problem of Walker being passed his best? Does it mean Lewis can come into midfield and do a better job than Bernardo or De Bruyne? Of course not. Yet here you are saying the young player isn’t good enough…

You’re also still failing to state what the midfield should be and are sticking with the general boomer ‘play the kids’ trope while also slagging them off. It’s the lowest common denominator of football analysis.

I never said play the kids are you having trouble reading? Lewis is crap he shouldn't be replacing anyone at any time ever.

Judging by the tosh you type you must be a FIFA 2025 fan boy because you make no sense at all, maybe someone pissed on your chips because you're a Lewis fan.

I suggest can wait for FIFA 2026 so you can modify your strange ideas instead of knocking your betters by belching out shite dressed as tactical knowledge.

BTW do you play the Xbox or PS version of how to kick a ball?

It’s not tosh. It’s an analysis of the players and squad we have rather than a ‘play the youth’ boomer trope which you’re completely unable to back up with any logic.

The fact you think I’ve defended or bigged up Lewis just goes to show how thick you are when there’s nothing like that in any of my posts. Like, where have you even got that from?

I’ll be honest, I did debate whether to even comments at you at first because in general you do come across as a bit of a div in your posts, especially when we’re not winning…

Football isn’t like FIFA you know? You can’t just magic players who are good enough out of thin air.

Stop banging on about boomers and again try to read a post without coughing up nonsense.

Your obvious solution of we are getting battered on a weekly basis is stick to the same routine shows what an imbecile you are and how little you know about tactics and formations.

I'm always upbeat, but unlike you I am not a slave to stupidity prone to self soiling and then trying to reflect yourself out of a hole by being a tit and showing yourself up.

I have socks older than you and farts with more intelligence.
