Very strange.

Have him and Pep had a fallen out? Is he just unfit?

He could have easily performed a false 9 role.
Pretty sure it’s because every game’s now a gamble with his injuries, therefore zero sense bringing him on either to chase a lost game or late on in a game we’ve already won.

It’s belated cotton wool treatment. He’s been overworked if not exploited by both club and country the last few years when clearly fragile, albeit not quite as brittle as now.

I really want Kev to stay honestly might be just me but I want him to get his 10 years in. I still think he has it if used sparingly.

Needs progressive passes, key passes and chances created to replace.. not many do that from centre midfield AM position really. Wirtz or maybe Baena that measures well also. Needs an extremely creative player in that case to replace, a Foden type will not do, needs final passes etc as well, or a ball progression player like David Silva will do as well. If they cant get that (quality) then give him another year, 2 is too much though I feel.

Watching that reminds you of just how good he was fucking devastated when he goes and probably impossible to replace
Yaya was also impossible to replace. At times like this, you cannot think individually. KDB is unique, and it is only the blend of skills throughout the side that can replace what he can do. In the same way as that blend of skills mitigates what he can't.

I loved yaya mate but kev is another level again and yes I’m sure somehow we will replace him like we have Sergio,Silva and Kompany in the past

Really will miss him. What a legend.

Kevin de Bruyne's time at Manchester City is rapidly drawing to a close. According to reports, the Belgian will not extend his contract, which expires at the end of the season. His next employer has now been announced.

After ten years at Manchester City, Kevin de Bruyne is likely to call it a day in the summer. According to consistent media reports, the Belgian will not extend his contract, which expires at the end of the season, and will instead look for a new challenge - the separation is probably by mutual agreement.

According to TBR Football, the 33-year-old's new employer has already been confirmed. According to the portal, San Diego FC are making great progress in their bid for de Bruyne and are already in advanced talks with the City captain. The interest of the newest MLS franchise has been known for some time, but now he seems to have decided in favor of the club from California.

San Diego has left one of the three spots open for designated players, i.e. players who are allowed to play outside the salary cap.

There is no player in the world who can replace KdB.

But Pep and supporting staff need to identify the right profiles going forward.

From my observations of this season, our biggest problem is we arent controlling the games when it matters, with and without the ball.

Yes, if you look at our possession %, we are one of the top 3 in Europe.

But most of that is when teams sit back, that's obviously easy to keep it, but when teams press us, we tend to struggle.

Our press higher up has also been very poor.

I think a lot of this will simply be fixed by lowering the age of the squad as we can see how the new young players are on fire, and can bring back our higher standard of play.

Im not so worried about replacing Kevin, thats impossible, there are good options in the youth coming up im excited about in Bobb, Echeverri, Mukasa.

Our greatest ever player. I think the best compliment I can pay him is that I was never afraid of any game against the best sides itw simply because we had KDB. There was never a worry if KDB was going to be decisive in these big games/title races.

I’d say the best ever.Too young for Bell,..seen plenty of Silva and Toure but this man has served up sooo many f’kin highlights!!?Just imagine if he’d have done it all in a red shirt?!Doesn’t bear thinking about does it?!

The San Diego rumours are back in full swing, I am amazed we would let him go there are not NYCFC, or are his injuries that bad and the club feel he would be too much of a liability in New York?
