17y-old John Guidetti: "I'll play in City this winter"

fair enough, i just though that surely if he wants his first team chance, he'll have to try kiss up and err, back hughes's youth team dealings. my baddd (:

How good is City at letting through juniors?
- They've been better before. Mark Hughes isn't very good at it. But some comes through and I both believe and hope it will happen already this winter.

I'm Sure saying this, won't help him at all tbh.

By my (weak) understanding of swedish, really he is saying something along the lines of: 'There have been times when more chances were given. Hughes hasn't been great in those terms. But I believe there will be chances, hopefully already in the winter.'

He's not rating Hughes' dealings with the youth, rather just saying that he hasn't given many youngsters a first team opportunity..can't really argue with that.

I edited it, the correct translation would be:
- (I guess) they used to be better at it. Mark Hughes isn't extremely good at it. But some comes through and I both believe and hope it will happen already this winter.

In interviews he's very straight forward, I bet it wasn't meant to be big criticism. And let's be fair here, if Hughes was "good at it" Weiss would've been playing much earlier.

He wasnt even first choice for the u18's last season , behind Mak , Nimely and Jack Redshaw , so he needs to focus on playing at that level every week , never mind the PL

In the few times I have seen him at Platt Lane , he has never done much to impress me tbh , though he is still very very young

Like Macheda in United, he's been lucky. When we played against him with the juniors he hasn't been good at all and likes the sunbed. Then he suddenly played in the seniors, we just laughed.

I am funny!

Seems like a proper character him though!

In the totesport game I saw last season Jack Redshaw outshone him by a mile.

I love big headed players as long as they can back it up.

I have met him a few times.

He is the real deal and will be a success.

He works very very hard on his technique especially after he finishes training.

His dad pushes him too. Very respectful lad.

I like his confidence but he hasn't a chance of breaking through yet, as it stands we have Adebayor (most likely), Tevez, RSC, Bellamy, Bojinov, Evans, Benjani, Caicedo, Ball, Poole, Mak, Nimely and Redshaw all strikers favoured ahead of him.
