Contact the Football Supporters' Federation - gets fans of other clubs down there too.

I urge anyone reading this to contact their MP, ask what their stance on the subject is and if pro, get them down at the event too.
I know Stringer is in favour - get your MP there......

My MP is George Osborne,he might not make it

Gorge Galloway may attend he's had previous contact with City fans

Go back to the days just before all seater grounds. Say there was 30000 in maine rd. 15000 would be on the kippax and 15000 would be in the seats.

Half the crowd preferred to stand. With their mates. It was also very cheap so even though our fan base has expanded a lot of our support went because it was affordable. The club has not quite grasped that yet. Getting pricing wrong where the end result is having to give away free tickets for champions league games.

Are we saying if we have safe standing our fans would be noisier? As Corky said; foreign fans make far more noise than us, and they are in a seated area! If it's for making the area cheaper, then I would support it. I don't think the atmosphere would be better just because fans are in a standing area, because that's what they do now in the south stand and along the side of the east stand and I Have never known atmosphere so bad this season! Away from home no problem.

Away fans are usually noisier because of the type of fan that travels to away matches. also, as they are all put in a few blocks then everyone who wants to sing is in one place.

if you had a standing area then fans who are up for singing can move into there and stand in groups of people they know. currently, if a few mates go to the match they are likely to be spread around the ground and therefor cant really generate any noise unless the people round them are up for it too.

Àny chance of a update as to were and when for Sat 6th Dec, would help anyone travelling to attend before the game.

There are plenty of clubs the youngsters can go and watch standing. If it was such a big factor why did the new generation follow City?

Away at Chesterfield, £15, all standing very poor crowd and a wall to piss on. Doncaster was standing too same price didn't sell out. Both were competitive 1st team games close by for not much money. Was the atmosphere any better? No.

The safe standing atmosphere myth, if fans fan to create n atmosphere they will, and if they don't they won't. How many great great atmospheres at CoMS have been created by away fans from other countries? Do they bother about the seats?
I don't want to sit down watching the football and standing up at grounds as they are now is unsafe. The amount of injuries i've had from seats is getting beyond a joke. I've got permanent lumps on my shins from the amount of times i've twatted them on the seats in front celebrating goals and once i went that ballistic celebrating a Vassell goal at Old Trafford i ended up cracking a seat in front, falling over and nearly putting the sharp edge of the seat through my cheek. With rail seats (safe standing) i'd never have any of that.

I think you only have yourself to blame, even people who want to sit down stand up to celebrate a goal.

You only have to see what it's like at Wembley when we go there or places like Blackburn and Old Trafford for cup games...everybody stands (most of the lower tier at Wembley) up and i'd bet only a small number of people don't want to who are amongst it all.

With us having a small lower tier we would need to spread the area of safe standing, if, when, we finally get it. 6000 standing is very small in a 60000 stadium, very small indeed. If the Anfield Kop ever got it, it would hold 18000 on it's own, that's without any other place in Anfield having it.

Doesn't help when you have three lads jumping on top of you, one from two rows behind! :D
