1894Group statement on the atmosphere in full here

Vary hard game to get it going last night. This happens every time you guys try as it's a cup game and there's always loads of tourists etc knocking around.

117 was half full of non-regulars and kids some of which were still searching for their seats 25 mins into the game, add to that about 30 people en-masse sat down on kick off and there was no way that 117 was going to get involved to spread what you guys were trying to do.

I don't think it was full of tourists, more families tbh. It's not as if the regulars sing in the south stand is it ?

The problem in numbers there just wasn't enough of you last night, we need 500 fans singing in a block not 3 rows of fans. City dot care about that type of fan though, there's very hits for families, rich types but nothing for fans who want to have a sing.

I'd say go in 109 maybe next time cos people sing there

Tourists/families same sort of thing, they're not going to improve the atmos.

The South Stand isn't that bad it's got us older singers in it rather than with respect to the lads over there in the Singing Section which is a little more spotty teenager.

Anyway you've upset me now so I'm going to stand, fold my arms and sing nowt on Sunday. ;)

Saw the tops of the flags from the top tier of the South Stand, but didn't hear anything.

Noise doesn't travel from Tier 1 to Tier 2 when you're in the same stand so I've no idea whether they were singing or not

Atmosphere was non-existent last night, and it's up to us to do something about it. The passion for the club is there, but it's just channelled into frustration and insult rather than singing.

I don't think it's ever coming back. We'll sin when we're winning, but when it's 0-0, or we're a goal down and there's 70monutes on the clock you can forget about supporters turning the game around. It used to happen occasionally. Now it doesn't happen ever.

I disagree with the last part. When we're losing or if there is just a goal in it with a few minutes to go, I'd say we're arguably at our loudest because all corners of the ground get involved. When we're winning I think it goes quieter.

I take my hat off to the 1894 group, the flags in the South stand look great just wish you had the finances to purchase more. I honestly don;t know what the answer is to the atmosphere problem is but the dearth of match going fans in the 18-25 age range might contribute to this. I actually do believe the club are so geared to families and the few day trippers that they honestly don't encourage local lads in that age group to attend, good luck to you all and i hope that one day soon we might see some noise at the stadium which is getting quieter by the year.

Hopefully we are rocking for sunday which we should be does anyone know what its like in block 211 being as singers are below and away fans are next to where it is?

Not rocking but better on Derby day..........Those right next to the away fans usually stand for Derbies though . Plenty of cross steward banter and aggression

Why don't the leaders of this group request a session in City Square stage. Do a Q&A session and outline what you are about. Even consider getting a group of you to sing 2-3 of the more obscure songs. Ask the crowd to join in and then tell them to join in once they hear it inside.

I got stuck up in 304 last night and asked 6 different male supporters did they know about you and where you were located in the stadium. All of them knew nothing of the 1894 Group.

Seriously unless you get visibilty and demo the chants you will struggle. Like I said previously, if you could promise 1000 fans Season cards at £400 if they were prepared to relocate to a Singing Section then you'd get a 1000 signatures on Sunday alone.

Be seen and be heard!
