I don't think we should be expecting too much of Gundo initially. Swept up like everyone else in the euphoria of his homecoming, I feel with a little bit of distance that that needs saying.
I know it was only for 20 minutes or so, but when he came on against Ipswich, it was like he’d never been away.

I don’t think there’s any danger of Ilkay not delivering.

Now; I have to question his sanity there!

When you miss the bad parts of something.. you're in a really bad spot.

He got lucky.. very lucky.. he escaped and Bernardo is even luckier if he has the common sense to avoid the Brokelona quicksand.

BTW that should just about end it for the Pep going back to Brokelona conspiracy theory.

We were on the ropes in that second half…until Gundo came on. Steadied the ship, played the extra pass when needed and calmed the whole team right down. Exactly what he was brought back to do.

Like he’s never been away. Ledge.
Exactly why we bought him back. I don't think anyone is seriously expecting him to play 50+ games this season. His experience off the bench in games like today, as well as potentially starting against the bigger teams, will be invaluable. He can say "been there, done that, got the t shirt".

According to the Star today, Ilkay will have the option to extend his contract by another year, if he features in at least 50% of our match-day squads this season.

I would expect him to walk that stipulation.
