extra man or not, hes yet to have one half-decent performance and we are nearly in december, not like he started well and got ran into the ground, he simply sucks

im just shocked just how awful hes been, age or not, he was great for barcelona and at the euros and 2 months later comes here and looks finished.

He had no pre-season, Spent a year playing walking football and is being asked to do a role he's not accustomed too in a non-existant midfield, it's not really all that surprising when we handicap him so heavily.

In a functioning midfield where he can just do what he's good at, he'd look significantly better.

He can’t run and now just points at his man in the expectation that another player will magically be able to deal with both his own man and the man Gundogan can’t keep up with. He cannot be allowed to play for us again, he’s absolutely finished.

Agreed, but with our recent injury situation he's had to start when he should have been on the bench.

It's sad to see him out there struggling this season as he's a shadow of his former self, unfortunately.

We must never exercise the option to extend his contract.

I was giddy when he signed, the nostalgia of a legend etc but should have been a bit more realistic. It's heartbreaking watching him to be honest

Thought he might have something left, even for a season. Looked pretty decent in Spain and the Euros, so it seemed he might be decent asset for one more season.

Turns out he's not.

You can see the football brain is there but physically he cannot match it. It happens to the best of them eventually, so it's not a criticism, just a reality of where he is.

Love the fella, keep him at the club next season in a coaching role by all means but unless he gets some huge second wind (wishful thinking), then he's just not able to do what we need on the pitch.

Has not played 5 good minutes since we signed him and it was clearly a mistake. Never forget what he did the first time round.

there was an instance in the second half where some spurs player literally just had to step aside slightly to get past him and he just completely gave up and didn't even pick himself up or attempt to run back and defend the counter. just entirely gave up. it was astonishing.

he's worse than the last seasons of yaya or ferna and that is so surprising to me because that wasnt the case even 6 months ago.
