I can't wait until the day we see him unleashed. Put him on with Haaland, KDB and Foden and watch them 4 take the piss.

He can play anywhere across the front line and his pressing and general energy would make a massive difference to the whole team dynamic. The past few home, league performances have been crying out for him really. Hopefully Pep thinks the same.

I wish, especially in his case, that players wouldn't have to 'play themselves' into the team using the odd 5 minutes they get here and there. Whenever he starts, he scores and is effective. Keep him fuckin' started!

I hope we see him. The difference Foden and Alvarez would make, is that they'd support Haaland with the press and they'd also bust a gut in getting back to put a foot in. Perhaps even more importantly they'd not just look for Haaland, they'd look to score themselves and play off him at times. Keeping the opposition guessing.

Will be become as vital to us as he was to Argentina

As I've said elsewhere, it's all a matter of how long he's prepared to sit on the bench watching the likes of Mahrez and Grealish, and to some extent Cole Palmer, starting ahead of him.

He won't want to sit around playing second fiddle to Haaland, only getting starts in FA and Carabao cup matches. He's here to play. If he doesn't get regular starts, I can see him wanting away and being sold at a huge profit, along similar lines to Ferran Torres.

Pep has to find a way to start both Alvarez and Haaland regularly, preferably at the expense of Mahrez or Grealish.

I'll be pissed off if he doesn't start tomorrow night alongside Haaland and Foden.

Chelsea have sterling and Pulisic and Pep will worry about the "transition" too much and will not play Alavarez from the start. I imagine Foden will come in for Mahrez who's started 3 straight now. Grealish on the other side for his extra passes

Can't compare him to Ferran, Alvarez is a lot better
I was comparing the number of chances Ferran was given early on in his City career as opposed to Julians. I think Pep gave Torres more starts, but agreed, Alvarez is better in all aspects except control in my opinion.

Not many extra passes I fear

Alvarez needs to be given a chance just like Ferran Torres. Personally i think Alvarez is a better overall player, what he lacks is 1st touch and control. I was actually suprised at how bad his touch is and how akward his dribbling is.
Awkward enough to run the length of the pitch and dribble half a pitch to score in World Up semi. We need to get Alvarez on the pitch playing with Haaland and Foden in a front 3

I'd like to see him either wide with Foden the other side and Haaland central, or as a no.10 with De Bruyne having a more disciplined box to box role. Alvarez will chase everything, work well with Haaland/the other wide players and offer a more direct approach to creating chances.
I would like to see Alvarez and Foden play either side of Haaland and have the license to be more fluid with their movement in front 3 either side of Haaland. We need to get him on the pitch and give him a chance to shine. I hope he starts vs Chelsea in league
