As I've said elsewhere, it's all a matter of how long he's prepared to sit on the bench watching the likes of Mahrez and Grealish, and to some extent Cole Palmer, starting ahead of him.

He won't want to sit around playing second fiddle to Haaland, only getting starts in FA and Carabao cup matches. He's here to play. If he doesn't get regular starts, I can see him wanting away and being sold at a huge profit, along similar lines to Ferran Torres.

Pep has to find a way to start both Alvarez and Haaland regularly, preferably at the expense of Mahrez or Grealish.

I'll be pissed off if he doesn't start tomorrow night alongside Haaland and Foden.
So will I, Alvarez must be given an opportunity to play in a front 3 with Haaland and Foden with KDB in behind. Grealish has been given too many chances and failed to deliver, give him his opportunity now!

same thing happened against chelsea in the CL final. pep being small time was afraid of transitions and played a weird ass formation and yet we conceded from a transition. as long as our manager has this small time mentality I am afraid we are not going to win the CL. club of our stature should have the arrogance to take the game to the opposition not cower in fear of transition.

it is pathetic and small time that pep is afraid of transition against fucking everton. if it was real madrid he has a point. but afraid of everton that is hilarious for a club of our stature

The only chance (and goal) we conceded was in transition against Everton so it looks like Pep was spot on to be honest.

We consistently have the most possession, most passes into the final third, most chances created and most goals scored. So in what universe do we not 'take the game to the opposition'?

no we don't. these days we only have the defensive possession. we are afraid to attack quickly and taking risk in the final third compared to the times we had sterling , david silva, jesus, foden etc. that is on pep in changing how we play. it is clear pep bought grealish to slow down our play in the final third to make extra passes. same reason he is keeping foden and alvarez on the bench often.
