Going to sound like a old fart but I loved football back in the 70s, meeting up with mates on a frosty/foggy/wet/grey (usually all four) saturday morning to see who was coming to maine road, pay on the gate unless it was all ticket, standing in the usuall place on the Kippax, 3pm kick off, singing all the songs,
I can remember when every city player had there own song, ok it might just be "one Kenny Clements" but most of the players gave the kippax a wave or nod after there song,
Laughing late in the game as the tannoy gave out the "official" attendance?
I just loved the buzz of excitement & anticipation before the game & away games could be even more interesting & dangerous!
