1980's Umbro City Shirts

I must get in the loft, I've got a bag full of old shirts. I've kept most from around 81 onwards. Don't really want to sell them but I could do with storing them properly instead of being stuffed into bin bags.
When you do photos please
I love bringing back found memories of old city shirts. CTID

Would be rude not to as they should be seen and shared ;-)
There's no match worn, just replica ones. I know I sold the white saab one with pinstripes and the black red checkered one on Ebay 15-20 yrs ago, think they were worth bout 100 each at the time. Obv worth more now but I needed the money.
Wish I still had my first one, the shiny home one late 70's I think, dunno what happened to it.

Still will be great shirts to showcase BR

1986 Full Members Cup Final Graham Baker match worn shirt….One of the most difficult City shirts of the 1980’s to obtain, Baker would replace Nicky Reid in the 58th minute of the inaugural Full Members Cup final against Chelsea, played at Wembley just 24 hours after City had drawn the Manchester Derby at Old Trafford.

The shirt is the 1984-86 away shirt design which had the coat of arms badge heat pressed on for use in the final only.

Replica shirts were available to buy from the souvenir shop with the same badge applied although the player’s shirt have the white inner fleece lining.

Beautiful shirt! Never realised they were quite so rare. Mine’s in pretty much mint condition- I wore it once I think. XL and now wondering whether to keep it or sell it.
Great shirt mate and very much sought after even as replica which now sell for big money.

Shirts give us memories, history and moments that we can all relate to when you see them so sentimental value is much higher. If this shirt has any of that for you then simply keep it in the family and past those memories on with it.

If it doesn't then simply cash in ;-)

A real personal favourite in the collection which was kindly donated by the player.

Andy May match worn shirt from Paul Power’s Testimonial v Everton on 19th August 1986. Note the programme is dated a year earlier than the fixture in which Power, who had recently just joined Everton would play a half each for both sides.

I weren't born during the 80s but they did have some really good shirts back then. I like the 1985/86 set as they look really nice and clean.

Our current home shirt looks similar to the 1985/86 but it looks nicer. I'm always big fan of Sky Blue (White logos), White Shorts and Sky Blue socks. Also I always like Red and Black Away kit but I also like Maroon Away kit too like 2017/18 which also had a good home shirt.

1979-1981 First Division Ray Ranson match worn shirt…Used for two seasons with the COA badge and woven material design.

A thing of beauty. By the way Mark did you sort your ticket out after the Bournemouth match I think? Saw you struggle to get in with it.

My Dad gave me his 1981 shirt last year when he moved house. The embroided badge. It is immaculate.

Got it in a frame over the stairs with my centenary cup final flag. First trip to Wembley aged 10.
I was at both finals, I was 16 at the time, even missing two of my O levels, I think tech drawing and history.

Now I know it’s not 80’s but I’m delighted to add this 1992/93 Premier League away match worn third shirt into the collection today.

A style worn on seven occasions during the campaign by both Fitzroy Simpson and Garry Flitcroft.

By far one of the, if not hardest 1990’s City match shirts to find with a reported one set produced.

Dennis Tueart 1980 Transatlantic Challenge Cup match worn shirt v AS Roma on 26th May 1980.

Tueart was sent off in the closing stages following a punch-up with Roma players Turone & Spinosi and didn’t get to swap shirts which the majority of players did following the final match of the tournament in New York that the Blues won 3-2 with goals from Steve Daley, Paul Sugrue and Kaziu Deyna.
