I keep meaning to ask London football confuses me

Where about in London do Chelsea draw their support from? I can work out Arsenal and Spuds (North) West Ham (East End) Palace (South)

South West London. There's a Chelsea shop in Kingston. Also Sutton, Putney, Worcester Park, New Malden, Wimbledon and out into the Home Counties are all Chelsea territory......

I think anyone who recalls the 1986 Full Members Cup Final know's what Chelsea fan's can be like? I was only eleven but can still recall the scenes today. Especially outside with herds of Chelsea fans rampaging through peoples gardens hunting down City fans like wild animals. The recent success and money of the last ten years seems to have masked over the fact they have always had one of the most violent and hostile followings in England.

Bloody roasting that day and I travelled in from Bromley as I was based at Biggin Hill...

Had to wear a jacket over my favourite Umbro shirt on a tube full of Chelsea fans, absolutely melting

Surrey mainly.

Chelsea play in Hammersmith and Fulham, just like QPR and Fulham - support in London comes from surrounding counties it would seem more than London itself.

a lot from reigate and places like that....surrey is a big catchment area for chelsea....cobham is 10mins from reigate

surprisingly support in the northern home counties
large Irish following as they seem to have been adopted by many 60's Irish immigrants and its been passed down
almost as many chelsea as spurs and arse up the line in places like hatfield/ welwyn garden city/ stevenage

Whatever happened to keeping the away fans in for 30 minutes let the area clear completely, particularly as there were still plenty of trains

I hate being locked in, its totally unnecessary.
The trouble yesterday was caused by a few idiots, locking them in wouldnt of changed that - they would of picked a fight in town.
i hope we never return to the days of away fans being locked in...it would totally ruin the away match experience.

Allowing City fans to disperse and head off in numerous different directions would've significantly reduced Chelsea scum attacking anyone they could. I've never really understood why a club based in such an affluent area attracts support from vermin both old and young. I hate them as much as I hate Leeds.

It may be a wealthy area, in general, but there are some nasty areas too. You will also find pockets of Chelsea fans based in the particularly unpleasant parts of Ealing.

It's always interested me that QPR and Fulham don't have anything like it. Fulham is timid as anything and, whilst QPR fans usually look like they've got something about them, there's no aggro. I thought they were fantastic with us when we won the league.

I suppose a lot of working class people strive to look better than what they are with the designer labels etc.

If you don't like football songs YOU move on.

Football support isn't for you.

I didn't realise that,thanks.

Do you actually go to the game , serious question ?

MCFC OK

Tbilisi was definitely at the match. I was drinking with him in town beforehand en route to the game.
I was actually pleased that we played "One step beyond" again as I've got sick of the crap Mourinho
has been dishing out and thought we should give a bit back. Did it in flame the situation? Yeh, probably
but their knobheads were looking for trouble anyway so it would have kicked off regardless. The police
were mainly to blame - why do we not keep away fans in after "big games" especially where they bring
6,000+ fans? It's just asking for trouble.

Delboy and Rodney would've both surely been Millwall if they were Peckham lads.

Not wholly sure you can keep fans locked in these days

I partially remember an episode where Rodney was rubbing shoulders with the yuppies and said he liked to go in the shed end. Unless my head is cabbaged by age and drink/drugs (very possible)
