2 guys on the floor near Mary Dees

Kevin Cummins suggested a City steward was racially abused. Naive maybe, but I thought that was a thing of the past.

I saw the two people laid out at the top of Grey Mare Lane and shortly after an ambulance heading in their direction.

It didn't look good but being honest I'd rather that one of them was a Chelsea gobshite who got what they were looking for, instead of a blue. A mate saw a small bunch of young Chelsea fans mouthing off at Blues of all ages at Wembley last year until they met their match and got a slapping by some of City's older lads by the shops. I wasn't surprised at all yesterday, it had all the ingredients for it, a large allocation, an arsehole bunch of fans, boozing all day, a 5 o clock kick offs and a grudge match fuelled by Mourinho's comments. I have to admit One Step Beyond didn't help. It is one thing the fans doing it, but I was surprised the club played it on the PA system. We didn't like it ourselves when United did something similar in the League Cup semi a few years back.

well done to the club for playing one step beyond absolutely no reason to gracefully pat the Chelsea fans on the back, you are there for us city fans and yes its a competition so why not celebrate our victory, if you think Maureen is solely to blame for the feelings between our clubs and the Chelsea fans and staff don't feel the same as him give your heads a good fookin wobble, cry babies that's all! can't take defeat same as a few seasons back when they went on there unbeaten run until we ended it, we were no threat to them at the time and could not be considered a rival, and the same happened spat the dummy out and attacked city fans all the way up to Piccadilly, unlike the majority of city fans since there short success they have become some what deluded into believing they are a football superpower and if anyone gets in there way its time for Danny Dyer, so bollocks to giving them a cuddle and playing knees up mother brown on the way out have some madness & banter for all the shit you have recently been spouting about us, well done city for winding them up hope you carry on the entertainment

Guy on the floor was running directly at a city fan who one of his shithouse mates had already hit from behind and ended up with his jaw nearly taken off his shoulders. What a terrible shame..

Karma is the biggest woman of all........Anyone around in the seventies and eighties when there was mass violent disorder and not the odd incident will tell you there were hundreds of lads who would bounce about, shout and run at people. When the shit came to shove though there was only a few who would stand and fight and fewer still who could fight properly. There were plenty of liberty takers though who would kick someone when they were already beaten or jump on a few when they had them outnumbered.

It looks like the person who got smacked met someone who could actually fight,a huge step up from their league and hopefully a big wake up call that violence is brutal and unforgiving and not a game.Go to the game, have a banter and take defeat gracefully, wake up safe and healthy. All that violence bollocks should stay in the past where it belongs for greying balding pot bellied men to reminisce about in the pub.

Basically they got the same turf as QPR then?

Surprisingly yes, there is a lot of Chelsea and QPR in the London boroughs of Ealing, hillingdon, Harrow, Hounslow. Some of these peoples parents and grandparents would have been from more central london districts like Hammersmith, Fulham etc. However due to a combination of slum clearance, white flight (racism), and the unaffordable cost of central London housing, they have migrated to the burbs. Other chelsea areas include Sutton and Carshalton, and then Merton (i believe). They do have a lot of fans on the M40 and M4 corridors outside the Greater London connurbation.
I know pockets of Chelsea in Kilburn, West Hampstead and Camden areas, non of which fit the racist stereotype, however some show affluent wide boy mannerisms. They have always had a bounce in their step Chelsea lads, or at least certain ones.
They have no way the number of supporters as Arsenal and Spurs in London (from my experience of over 20 years in the city-mainly on the north side). I'd wager there are less people in Greater london who affliate themselves with Chelsea than both sets of red vermin.
Chelsea will always have its shameful nf and combat 18 past, and thus the consequences of that reputation, however ever year i go to Stamford bridge i see a few more non white faces, but then i also see a match day crowd that bears little resemblence to the Chelsea of the 80's and early 90's.

A very interesting post mate.
I lived in London briefly in 2004 and like you say, the inner boroughs are heavily influenced by waves of immigration so the whites tended to move out. What interests me is where pockets of football fans moved out to. I lived in East Dulwich, which was getting a lot of affluent young professionals moving back in as it was a nice area in zone two. A lot of the locals seemed to be of Irish descent and I'd say Milwall were the biggest supported club followed by Crystal Palace and a smattering of Chelsea.
A lot of the Millwall lads say their ‘type’ had moved out towards Kent from inner city Bermondsey and the likes.
The thing about Chelsea is, don’t they have a much bigger catchment area than anyone else in London? Everyone says Spurs and Arsenal have by far the most fans but they have to share the North London suburbs where Chelsea is the dominant big club in the south and West of greater London.
Would you have a lot of Arsenal and Spurs all over London? I didn’t notice many Spurs south of the river although a lot of black guys seemed to be Arsenal fans.
The other thing is I know a big Family of Spurs from the Essex/London border and they swear blind they’ve a bigger support than Arsenal in and around London. Surely, with Arsenals success over the last decade and a half, they’re support with of grown considerably larger than Spurs in that time?

So what actually happened? And who was involved?

I've tried reading the last few pages but still feel none the wiser!

Basically if you mess around with us you'll get what's coming!;-)

Wife and i in our city scarves were walking from Mc Donalds near asda to the stadium on sat and a bunch of chelski fans shouted some racist abuse to us, in the safety of their cars of course.. it wasnt "banter". Ive never seen such angry fans before. We were sitting in 306 and saw quite a few scuffles in the away end all through the game. Clearly it was just a minority of them but still.. what bitter people. And f8ck me, singing mourinhores name through 95 mins.. he's really brainwashed them.

A few of them tried to kick of with me near sainsburys on Oxford Rd.
About 5 of them, all wearing stone island jackets and flat caps! Couldnt help but laugh.
One was waving around a fire blanket too for some reason?!

Just spoke to my mate who got caught up in what went on yesterday, he said he saw one of the guys cop it as been described on here, he said he was a Chelsea fan and that Chelsea were looking for it after the game outside Mary Ds, picking on anyone with City colours on, he said they came unstuck though, he also confirmed that some shithouse threw a bottle which did hit a woman
not condoning it but when you see someone who is giving it the biggun and bullying people who dont want trouble put oh his arse by a punch you must have a chuckle....hope the woman is ok

Break that down to it's base form (Without the context) Someone who a person has absolutely no knowledge or feelings for says nasty words. That person potentially (I have not heard any news to how the people are) kills another person over these nasty words and your immediate reaction is to have a chuckle?

Hope everyone involved is ok and anyone who should get arrested does.
But nobody died did they? Unless I've missed something. Your post is based on what could have happened, but it didn't, so it carries no weight whatsoever.

What if the 'nasty words' we're so nasty and threatening that they caused somebody to have a heart attack and die? But they didn't

Maybe the person that hit him was protecting somebody else who the bloke was picking on? You don't know the circumstances.

What seems to have happened is somebody throwing their weight around, looking for a fight, with innocent people who weren't their to fight, lost.

Maybe it will be a lesson to him and next time he won't go looking for it, or maybe it won't, maybe he'll be doing the same next week too, who knows.

The main thing is that nobody gets seriously hurt.
