2 guys on the floor near Mary Dees

I live in Wallington (between Sutton and Croydon), its almost all Chelsea round here

The promblem is with the police. In the 80s police were on top of the hooligans .keep away fans in after the game . Now they let fans out together .keep them in problem solved

I think anyone who recalls the 1986 Full Members Cup Final know's what Chelsea fan's can be like? I was only eleven but can still recall the scenes today. Especially outside with herds of Chelsea fans rampaging through peoples gardens hunting down City fans like wild animals. The recent success and money of the last ten years seems to have masked over the fact they have always had one of the most violent and hostile followings in England.

Jesus mate,I was in my 20s and yes it was an eventful day but think your imagination might be running a little wild with the hunting down like animals.

They did brick a City Junior Blues coach though, were you on that ;)

No I wasn't on any coach mate but I've spoken to many well known City names of that period who went and they assured me it was a rough weekend. I can also recall vaguely the trouble at the night match in 84 (Friday night IIRC) that they arrived in huge numbers and caused problems and again in 89.

Was a rough and a long weekend. We played Utd at The Swamp on the Saturday (2-2) and Chelsea the next day at Wembley. Drinks in town after the Derby and midnight train to Euston. Not quite 'hunting down like animals' but a bit dodgy. Imagine 2 games in 24 hours nowadays.

The night match in 84 was fookin madness. We'd fooked up promotion that season and it was live on telly. They brought fookin thousands and took the piss, just chasing anything and everyone. Age didn't interest them; kids and women and old people were hiding where they could. That lot were poper scum.

Remember watching that match at my uncles In Hume on TV. His house was on the main road with the masonets behind it, remember straight after the game finished going upstairs to find my two cousin sneeking out the bedroom window and looking out seemed there was a young lad coming out of every other front door in the masonetts to firm up, (these was reds and blues)
Watched from the front window as the escort came past kicking off all over the estate, cousins came back telling tales of fighting from Hume down to the Phoenix bridge, Hume was mentel in them days with the locals teaming up no matter what team they supported to go and have a go at the escorts that went down loyd street

I keep meaning to ask London football confuses me

Where about in London do Chelsea draw their support from? I can work out Arsenal and Spuds (North) West Ham (East End) Palace (South)

Mainly Reading and Thames Valley.

Many in the Home Counties too. Along with all the other London Clubs.

the 84 night match quite a lot of city lads turned and fought that night on Lloyd street south and garswood road, they weren't the guvners, but out numbered 20-1 they did more than give Chelsea a good hiding in the back streets, any blues that were there and reading this will now what I mean
