Walker is of that age where you do start to worry. At the beginning of each season, you wonder to yourself, "Is this when his legs will start to go?"

He's just so critical for us in those high-level games, especially in the Champions League. Look at how badly we faded when he had to come off in the quarter and semi second legs last season. Atletico were cutting through us down that side, and should have forced extra time. Madrid only grew into the game after Walker limped off, and their first goal came from the right side.

He's also the only fullback in the world who genuinely strikes fear into Mbappe's heart. Mbappe took one glance at him last November and decided to switch sides, never even trying to run at Walker once.

We just need to squeeze a season or two more out of his legs. That's the most we can fairly expect of him.

Its why I think getting a dedicated left back with Wilson-Esbrand as back up is important. With the left side completely sorted, it allows us to be more selective with Walker. Yeah, he will want to play every game, but with his age we can see injuries popping up more so there needs to be some management there. As JWE is breaking through, it still allows for moving Cancelo back to LB when needed so everyone should be getting enough game time.

Last season we were basically running Walker and Cancelo into the ground until Pep started to play Ake and Zinchenko a bit later on in the season. Having someone like Cucurella takes the pressure off both sides of defence, not just the left.

It’s Time Kyle ……it’s time brotha.
Join the slaphead academy and just shave it off. Throw away that fake fiber hair spray for the games when you suddenly turn up with full head of hair for the games.

Lol come on brotha ….join us and just shave it off. LMAO
