For me, that summed up his game today.I like Walker but I’d be happy to see us get another right back that’s better in possession
For me he always takes a touch of two too many, or is too hesitant in possession when attacking, it’s frustrating at times. I understand his strengths too, his pace and recoveries are exceptional at times but I’d like to see someone in that position with a bit more quality on the ball.
Against teams like West Ham who set out to defend, playing Cancelo right back would be a better option. We just haven’t got a left back to do that. Walker is crucial in the big games though.I like Walker but I’d be happy to see us get another right back that’s better in possession

for consideration ...Wasn't really sure what we were gaining out of him playing in midfield today. I thought it would be a lot better for him to overlap with Foden and have that width but Pep knows best!
that formation we used to play at school in the 60s is pretty much how we played in offence yesterday. When defending its more 4 - 5 - 1. And we are in offence 4 x longer than we are in defence :-)
Agreed. He's not a good technical player or passer (relative to the rest of the team), and playing him in that position means he ends up out of position for his main job. He never gets beat one-on-one, but this game he's been beaten multiple times because he's always starting from a position he wouldn't normally be. There's a reason why for the past few seasons, we've mainly been playing just Cancelo or Zinchenko in that role, not both full backs.Being an inverted RB completely exposes the weaknesses in his game
