2 | Kyle Walker - 2024/25

Anyone else notice when they had that free kick de bruyne tried to give walker the arm band and he didn't take it. Says it all about where is head is at. Dont think iv ever seen the club captain refuse an armband

He barely warmed up pre game, not even sure he did.

During warm up before he came on he just stood there and watched the game. Clearly unmotivated right now and meant to be our captain.
You do start to wonder how much of a negative effect having such a poor captain has had on us. We've really looked like we've lacked leadership at times, and you should obviously expect some of that to come from your captain, yet he's been absolutely nowhere.

the ones voted him to stay captain should not vote again. the captain should be someone who starts most game anyway a certain starter which he is not anyway.

He struggled today from the moment he came on. Looks short of confidence in himself.

The results seem to have affected his performances and leadership. Passing up the armband when he came on was not really a surprise.

We do but we won't do that unless walker himself accepts it's over. This is pure speculation on my part, could very easily be entirely false but I get the impression he's not someone who will willingly accept things he doesn't want to hear or face.

I reckon he probably still thinks he's capable of being the champions right back. Out of respect, we aren't going to look to dump him, it has to be a mutual thing and if he still thinks he's upto it, that isn't going to happen.

Believing the above to be true, the solution is we sign a centre back this windkw and then we can move akanji/stones out there or possibly the new centreback if he is adaptable.
The decision shouldn’t be in Walker’s hands. This is no time for sentiment. He’s been awful all season and was absolutely terrible when he came on today. Pep and the management team have to be the ones to bring an end to this. If we can’t sell him we need to buy out his contract or bench him permanently.

I agree that the obvious immediate solution is Akanji (although he had a nightmare today) or Stones (when he’s fit).

So as Stones isn’t fit - what other options did Pep have other than Walker?
