Players with the speed and physique of Walker and indeed Traore are hard to come by. Neither Lewis nor Frimpong would have the abilities needed to catch and hold him off. Walker will get better after the international break, once he starts to play more games and finds his rhythm; he’s only played 390 minutes of a possible 990 minutes. He’s in the twilight of his career with us, we all know that, so constantly griping about his waning powers is pointless. The club needs to identify his successor, presumably from outside, and make that signing a priority next summer.
