2 | Kyle Walker - 2024/25

Traore is fast, yes, but Walker has been getting burned for pace for well over a year now. I mean, it wasn't even close between them. Play Akanji at RB, if anyone. He's done at this level.
How much faster Traore is than Walker really surprised me. Traore went past Walker as if Walker were standing still.

neither of Akanji and Lewis are the solution to replace Walker , a full back or 2 are needed next summer for sure.
The problem we seem to have is that lack of recruitment and not strengthening full back centre mid and striker options is gonna really give us a massive rebuild in the near future and it can’t be done in one season . Why did we fail to make any covering signings this summer even though we apparently have this massive war chest I’ll never know and it’s now coming back to bite us .

He is absolutely rapid to be fair but Walker’s pace has been on the wane for a while. He’s still obviously very quick but we’ve seen over the last 12 months a few times where his odd thing of giving players a head start by either arrogance or shite positioning has come back to bite or on the arse.

Very remiss in not getting a replacement a couple of season ago, and persuading him to stay and give him a three year contact was madness The fact that he's club captain and still getting up to his antics outside the club baffles me

He's still quick enough to get himself out of bother most of the time. But Traores pace is frightening and absolutely killed him yesterday.

Players with the speed and physique of Walker and indeed Traore are hard to come by. Neither Lewis nor Frimpong would have the abilities needed to catch and hold him off. Walker will get better after the international break, once he starts to play more games and finds his rhythm; he’s only played 390 minutes of a possible 990 minutes. He’s in the twilight of his career with us, we all know that, so constantly griping about his waning powers is pointless. The club needs to identify his successor, presumably from outside, and make that signing a priority next summer.

Yeh he’s done. His recovery pace was the only thing he had going for him

Adama Traore (28) is arguably the fastest winger in the world. Very few, if anyone, can match his speed.

This ain't the right moment to mock a 34-year-old Walker for

He had a yard on Traore and still got burned off
