Stats aren’t everything but they help to paint a picture. Only confirms what lots of us have observed. He is on a downward trajectory this season, though in my opinion his big decline in form started last season, Palace and Newcastle mistakes that lead to conceding goals that immediately come to mind. A replacement right back is a priority.

Zabba was a hero, a legend but he was not the greatest player but had the heart of a lion.

Walker has consistently been the best RB in the PL for the best part of a decade.

I find it really uncomfortable how many of our fans feel the need to shit on a club legend because he’s getting old.

Walker has been the lynchpin in our defence for 8 years and he’s been the best RB in tbe world over that period and we don’t win 17 trophies, 100 points, the quadruple, the treble without him. Everyone gets old, why so much animosity? Because the Sun stalked him for a few years?

You even see people angry at Walker because the rest of the squad voted him captain…as if that’s his fault somehow.

I’m not shi££ing on him for one minute. My previous posts have commented on him being one of ours and Englands best ever fullbacks. However, his drop off in form has directly contributed to conceding goals and a very shaky defence. Granted, he’s not the sole reason but due to his age and drop in form it’s only right and proper that we now look to replace him, it’s a natural process in any top team. I agree some of the social media posts are completely over the top but then again I don’t honestly believe that they are all from City supporters. People will do anything for likes, clicks or whatever else attracts attention nowadays.

I agree. He absolutely loves the club and is on record saying so. Making him captain is probably his proudest moment in what has been a stellar period for him, domestically.

The team's captain is not always the best player in the squad and there are misguided opinions here, imo, in relation to Walker's form and that of the team itself. There's more to fix than just the RB.

The thing people seem to not be getting is that if we end up losing games and conceding goals relying on a player who’s fallen off a cliff due to age, it’s not the players’ fault. It’s the management not planning ahead. They’re the ones who’ve fucked up.

Support Walker yeah but Pep picks him because he has no choice. Walker’s decline isn’t his fault but his attitude towards his game play is and it hasn’t been good this season. That being said I hope he regains some type of form.

Just '"mutually" end the contract in January.

He wasn't even overly terrible today but every time we concede, the first thing I see is what Kyle was doing. It's probably irrational but he has become synonymous with this terrible form.
