It could serve a similar purpose as a "show-me" contract in baseball, where an aging or recently injured star takes a relatively smaller one year deal to showcase their talent. It's a gamble.

Loan with OPTION to buy? We will have another Kalvin Phillips/Cancelo situation on our hands. Obligation or no deal, surely?

I think we’re making things easier for Kyle since he’s been a great servant to the club. We’re giving him the chance to get a fresh start and move on from everything he’s been battling over the past few months.

It’s a win for Kyle—a fresh start, a new environment, and no more media hounds chasing him. And it’s a win for us too—reducing the wage bill, freeing up a spot to register someone better, younger, fresher, and hungrier.

Yeah but it sounds like he might be back in the summer

Let’s hope he kills it there and stays for another season at Milan until his contract runs out. If not, I’m sure the Saudi interest will still be there!

Romano reporting its likely to be a loan to Milan. he is back in the summer. lets hope they take over all his wages in the meantime, but them being from Italy I doubt it.

Read somewhere (possibly on Twitter) that you could read into Foden post match comments yesterday as hinting towards some sort of unrest in the dressing room. Some people had attributed that to Kyle- but I haven't really seen what those comments were.

Has anybody seen those comments?

Either way, a solid solid player for us during his peak - collosal during that Champions League winning run.

It might this these comments you are referring to but I don't think it is meant in the way you say above.

"We're building momentum, keeping players fit is important. I put it down to people being in better shape and the team is bonding better... When we score we're not rushing it. We're keeping possession and build-up play was important today..."

A real shame that the fans won't get a chance to say farewell on the pitch.

A massively important player for us. One of our best and most important signings.
Goal scorers always get the glory but Kyle has been every bit as important at the other end.

He'll be a huge loss.

I hadn't seen the comments so didn't want to comment.

Seems like Twitter folk are trying to attribute meaning and assign blame.

Would agree with you that there is no meaning towards Kyle there.

He might against Chelsea.

His form fell away quite early in the season and it was clear all wasn't well. He's been so good for us though, with some regular bouts of peak performance along the way. Great player.

Not being funny but why would he after the abuse he got?
Because the criticism was contemporary (and justified) and any actual abuse was really only from a small section of the fan base (the brain-dead bit).

Most of us (and himself) I imagine can see that he was being played out of form by a desperate manager who fucked up with his squad management.

The club have behaved terribly in this regard. I'm in agreement with Scragg here. The club are out of order forcing our club legends to fall apart Infront of our eyes because of their arrogance and incompetence.

Might not be the last time we see him this season. There is a very real chance we could get AC Milan in the CL L16 qualifiers and he lines up for them against us.
