2 nil and we go through

We need 2+ goals against Barca without conceding more than 1.
1. We get about 35% possession.
2. We cannot play from the back due to their effective high press. Hart will need to kick the ball long everytime.
3. Corners are the easiest way to score against Barca.

For all the above reasons, we need a striker with height who can score from a corner or freekick and receive long balls from Hart. That means including Dzeko/Bony in the starting eleven leaving us with a 2 man midfield of Yaya-Dinho. The game will bypass Yaya just like Fernando was.

To make it worse, we would also see Yaya smiling and congratulating Barca players at the end of the game.

Still hoping for a miracle..

With our clueless manager we won't win at the Nou Camp. Everyone who isn't completely stupid knew that going 4-4-2 with Milner and Fernando in midfield side by side was only net us one result... and yet he waits until the 60th minute to do any kind of change.... and what does he do? Take Nasri off... and then Silva. Two of our best players on the day while leaving headless chicken Fernando on the pitch.

I wish City fans would stop bitching at the ref. We didn't lose because of the ref last night. We lost because our first half performance was nothing but pathetic and our manager should have learned by now that going 4 in midfield against Barca won't work. His subs were appalling too.

The excuses some City fans on here come up with when we lose are hilarious, Clichy was at fault for being sent off, noone else.

I am not a pessimistic city fan at all but after watching last night and the fact we keep making the same mistakes in this competition year in year out I just can't see it, Pellers for me yesterday made the wrong selection choice and also playing two up top was suicide luckily we got our self back in the game and Hart saving the penalty means we have a slim chance (very slim)....

Stopping Barcelona scoring at the Nou Camp is pretty much impossible and I know Malaga did it the other week but Barcelona are a different animal in the champions League and them scoring means we have to score at least 2 or 3 to win the game without extra time.

Yaya coming back is a plus but he hasn't been great in the other Champions League games this season and unless he has someone doing his running/dirty work for him in there he will be ineffective, We have to start with one upfront in the second leg and have Dzecko and Bony ready to come on if we can keep it tight first half then we can go for it in the second half

Hart

Zab Kompany Mangala Kolarov

Fernandinho Fernando

Silva Yaya Nasri

Aguero

In a 3 man midfield yes, he wouldn't be pressed so easily. 2 man midfield no.

Funny you say that. Here's a stat on number of red cards awarded to opponents in the UCL.

BARCELONA = 31
Arsenal, Bayern = 18
PSV = 16
Manchester United = 14
Madrid/Porto/Galatasaray = 13

"11 of the 31 red cards shown to Barcelona's opponents in the Champions League have been shown to Premier League clubs" - Opta

I think the probability of that is high since we are 3/3 finishing with 10 men every time we play them.

1-2 and penalties?

Do we know in advance who's getting sent off in the 2nd leg?
