Yep that's what I am talking about.Think it’s because Kev drifts wide right to whip crosses in but I agree it would be good to see at some point. It would also mean Kev cutting in on his right to shoot.
Kev is so multi-functional and "rich" player in terms of skills and abilities, that I don't even think that he would have to sacrifice anything to play there and considering the height of our players maybe tiki-taka and shoots from the distance could be better than crosses and etc.
And it would free space for Bernardo and Foden potentially as well, and would give the huge boost to the team, because right now, except Gundogan - no one can play LCM and that's why there are so many rumors about Grealish and Fabian Ruiz and Bennacer and etc.
But one switch and we have Debruyne / Gundogan on the LCM position and Bernardo / Foden for the RCM..

The whole Mendy post and the reaction obviously hurt him personally, things like that don’t go away in football as seen when Porto mentioned it after we played them away.

Play him as RCM and always delivers.
It's the mystery why Pep has never tried Debruyne as LCM and Bernardo as RCM at least in one game
and three attacking players in front of them... I think that would revolutionize our midfield and game
and lay the fundament for another 100 point back-to-back seasons..
Otherwise when Bernardo plays as LW or RW or RCM - we can all feel that he plays out of his natural position and can't deliver what we all want and wait for...

I think Pep has a hard time shoe horning Bernardo in the side at times. The right wing doesn't work for him like before. I feel teams know he's going to cut inside when he receives the ball and they don't give him space like before. Even from the right of midfield when he makes his runs inside. I agree and do think Gundogan is Pep's first choice with KDB. He is more of a central midfielder who can help control possession with quick 1 touch passes similarly to Silva. Bernardo comes from more of an attacking midfielder background where he controls the ball more with his dribbling. Pep mentioned before how he likes the short passes. This is better in beating a press because the ball is always faster than the defender.
Lately we have been seeing him more in a central midfield position when he does play. I think Pep trusts him with the ball and allows him to use his dribbling to some extent, but if he's under pressure tells him to play it back to the CB's knowing he's not as sure footed with his passing as Gundogan. This still does help control the possession. I would like to see his heat map against Chelsea because he was all over the place. He was left, then right behind then up top right. What I did notice is that when Cancelo attacked, Bernie covered the space behind him as a temporary RB. When he did go forward, Cancelo stayed back. The system was really fluid. He'll sacrifice himself for the team which is why Pep loves him as most of us do.

We missed Bernardo last night. We could have been looking at a proper thrashing if he hadn’t been suspended.
Definitely.
But then again,we could have replaced Mahrez with one of the kids and we'd have improved.
