Easy to say it on paper but in practice it isn’t the case. Whenever we combine KDB and Bernardo in midfield we lack any semblance of control and concede way too many counter attacks. Hence why both have looked at their best as the RCM next to David Silva, but not together.
Pep’s system relies on having a CM that possesses “la pausa”; xavi, iniesta, Alonso, kroos, Silva etc. Right now the closest he has to that is Gundogan so expect KDB and Bernardo to be competing for that same spot for the forseeable.
