Also, dismissing the importance of "putting in a shift" is stupid too. People have this mindset likely taken from the punditry of Rio Ferdinand that anybody can put in a shift and it's the bare minimum expected etc. Putting in 100% is the bare minimum, having the energy he possesses isn't something every player has, far from it its an attribute in its own right and an absolutely vital one in a Pep team which is why Bernardo and jesus are Pep favourites. Being able to sprint stop start almost constantly for 90 minutes is rare and gives the team so much.
