I would say he is a water carrier exactly because he plays higher up. he is not great as a creative player. bernardo himself says he plays best deeper next to rodri. so pep should play him there instead of higher up like he did last game.Pep is using him as the donkey of the team and that's why he hasn't been as productive. Stop using him as the "water carrier" of the team and allow him play an advanced role, then you would see the Bernie that tore up defenses along with Leroy and Kdb.

this is patently false. he is not a good attacking player. he is better as a work horse ball carrier. he himself says that. do not confuse bernardo with david silva just because they have the same name.He'll be much more useful to dribble near or in the box to open up those ultra defensive teams than wasted as a work horse in the midfield!
