They probably are connected

The manager picks him because that’s the one who convinced him to stay another season

But for me, I just don’t quite see how you can rely on a player to dig deep and put in 100% when you’ve had to convince them to stay, knowing they probably can’t wait for the season to end
 
the guy has already left the club in his mind. Get rid now if he's downing tools.
 
Says it all that we were willing to cash in IMO. No end product on him and never has had any, doesn’t affect games at all. Wish we’d put him on the wing personally
 
Was involved more than anyone but also didn’t do anything. An odd performance really.

You can say the same about every single player, bar Rodri.

fact is we are spent. We dont have it this season. We might be able to raise it for one off games like the Champs league but we so far off it in the grind of the prem.
 
Shell of himself. Disappointing really as he’s one of my favorites. When you all but say you basically don’t want to be here, it draws even more scrutiny.
 
Runs around for 90 minutes and offers nothing. Been the story of him for the last 18 months
 
You could see today that having a poorer quality centre back partnership is meaning he has to drop so deep to collect the ball. Bernie is at his best when he plays in the area of the pitch that scares opponents. Having no-one able to play the ball quicker - Stones has been the best at this so far this season - means we had our two centre midfielders receiving the ball just outside our own box. Nathan is also so scared of being caught out he doesn't push the back four higher and this means we are either easy to press, or teams are simply happy for us to play it back and forth between the keeper and the defence as Haaland and others make their umpteenth run into space without getting a pass.
 
Guess he still loves his Mrs and John the dog but maybe not Manchester the City and club. The devil in me wonders if Jack got on his nerves as well as the geordies re almeron last yr .

I feel he's been unfairly scapegoated after this match, the 'his heads gone' accusations are just petty.

He wasnt given the licence to affect the game in the final 3rd, especially first half. When Kdb plays Bernardo has to dictate from deeper. Pep clearly told him to be more offensive in the 2nd half resulting in huge gaps in the midfield.

Peps miss use of Bernardo really irks me, he's far to talented to be playing within himself, No wonder he wants to leave.
 
He's playing as badly as he did when that whole Mendy / racism stuff happened.

Gundo or Phil in CM ahead of him until he rediscovers his form or leaves.
 
Don’t think he was that bad, apart from the one pass in the first half I think he did alright. Had to drop extremely deep as our 3 best ball playing CBs were not playing
