I went to the Benfica game at the weekend, they were crap. Speaking to a few fans there and mentioning the likes of Eddie and Dias etc they were happy to have a chat but none were particularly interested in Bernardo. They already have the likes of DI Maria, they want to get younger and fresher.

I don’t think somebody like Bernardo makes sense to them, just like Walker will never play for Sheffield United again.

He really isn’t. Has been an absolutely brilliant player for us but offers very little these days

I heard we’re keeping tabs on Trubin, as well as their centre-back Antonio Silva—who, last I checked, comes with a hefty price tag. That said, we already have plenty of centre-backs, including Reis and Bah (currently out on loan) who haven’t even had a proper chance yet. Maybe the plan is to move on from one of our injury-prone options this summer—otherwise, a move for Silva feels unlikely. Full-backs should be more of a priority right now. Still, if we do push ahead for Trubin or Antonio, perhaps including Bernardo in the deal could help bring the fee down significantly.

He owes us nothing , a magnificent player in our shirt.

I think the Benfica talk is romance, the little fella will want one last big pay day, and playing in a less physical league will suit him ( La Liga or French League 1).

Bernardo is becoming a sacrifice piece on the board, he will nullify everything within 10 yards around him but for both teams. Should be used sparingly.

He can only play right wing if de Bruyne or Nunes are consistently running beyond him. He's not going to dribble to the end line to cross with his right so he's only going to pass backward without someone to deliver the final ball on his side.

Poor? Slipped in Nunes (and pointed out the run to him!) for the first goal. He's not going to beat his fullback and waltz into the box anymore, but there's nobody as good at securing the ball and you see how the team trusts him with that by simply blasting the ball to his general direction whenever under pressure.
