I think we'd allow him to leave for a fairly modest fee if he can come to an arrangement with Benfica over wages.
I went to the Benfica game at the weekend, they were crap. Speaking to a few fans there and mentioning the likes of Eddie and Dias etc they were happy to have a chat but none were particularly interested in Bernardo. They already have the likes of DI Maria, they want to get younger and fresher.

I don’t think somebody like Bernardo makes sense to them, just like Walker will never play for Sheffield United again.

I'm sure there will be some young, bright Benfica talent we can line up for a future deal, in lieu of a reduced fee for Bernie...
I heard we’re keeping tabs on Trubin, as well as their centre-back Antonio Silva—who, last I checked, comes with a hefty price tag. That said, we already have plenty of centre-backs, including Reis and Bah (currently out on loan) who haven’t even had a proper chance yet. Maybe the plan is to move on from one of our injury-prone options this summer—otherwise, a move for Silva feels unlikely. Full-backs should be more of a priority right now. Still, if we do push ahead for Trubin or Antonio, perhaps including Bernardo in the deal could help bring the fee down significantly.

100%.

No way will we expect the €60mil or whatever has been quoted, not a prayer. I think he will be gone for a very modest fee and a big thank you from the club and all of us.
He owes us nothing , a magnificent player in our shirt.

I think the Benfica talk is romance, the little fella will want one last big pay day, and playing in a less physical league will suit him ( La Liga or French League 1).

Not into the statue thing but this dude deserves one as much as anyone.

Of all the CMs, he is the one we can afford to let go.

Gundogan and Kova are just better, and we dont need Bernie on the wing.

Whatever his salary is for next season on his last year of his contract, just make that the buyout and we can transfer it to him and let him go and write it off as a break even.

Been a legend, but he looks completely washed now.

A Ferrari with a million miles on the clock.

Bernardo is becoming a sacrifice piece on the board, he will nullify everything within 10 yards around him but for both teams. Should be used sparingly.

He can only play right wing if de Bruyne or Nunes are consistently running beyond him. He's not going to dribble to the end line to cross with his right so he's only going to pass backward without someone to deliver the final ball on his side.
