20 | Bernardo Silva - 2025/26

I must have watched a different game. It’s like having a full back playing wide forward. If there’s a more negative attacking player in world football, I haven’t seen them.

The grief players like Doku, Sav (look at his thread after playing just 20 mins last night) and even Phil have gotten on here for their poor performance/lack of output and yet our captain, gets away with murder.

I can only assume that expectations are extremely low for him to be praised for his performance last night. He was terrible, as he has been for a long time. He needs to play centrally, next to Rodri, or not at all. This RWF experiment has gone on far too long and needs to stop.

He was excellent. Safe intelligent feet bringing the ball out. A new "Kaiser" role.
 
I don't think he should play every game, particularly against big, physical midfields. But games like yesterday with space and time, the quality will out

Bernie was good last night. His role means Pep can play Foden at 10 in big games. With Bobb or Savinho on the right we'd be too open. But against weaker teams Pep will play with one of them and it will be fun to watch.

I will come back to this after the Arsenal game. He doesn’t offer us anything. Our right side is completely dead.

I think he's doing an unglamorous job for us providing a bit of stability on that side. If Bernardo isn't on the right, I don't think we get to see Foden enjoying himself or Doku coming in off the wing. Bernardo has completely sacrificed his flair for us in the last 3 or 4 years.

Bobb , Savio ,Cherki even Nunes, a lot things to offer.

We would be better team if Foden starts there , and Nico on paired with Rodri ( For Arsenal game)

It’s noticeable how he tucks in to cover for Foden who then Has license to roam in the pockets. It’s working as a system so far. Against better teams we’ll see.
 
we will be a better team one day when Bernardo leaves this club. simply his uselessness in attack is costing us a lot, we keep playing with one less offensive option even though we have it on paper. it's a shame we don't use Bobb
 
I am sorry but that was a joke from Bernardo! Rolling around on the floor because he had a football rolled towards his genitalia. What do you think Kompany would have done in that situation? Fucking joke.
 
A workhorse performance. Dont like him on the right as a rule but really important to that style of play.
 
Big game and Bernardo Silva once again putting in a mammoth shift. Delighted pep went with him central first half, both he, the team, rodri, and others that also move as a result are better when that happens. Shithousing seemed stupid at the time but showed great discipline to not be at risk of it costing us. Captains performance.
